Nice! I've had this on my watch list for years now, it's terrific to see it actually coming.
Pretty sure we won't be seeing it any time soon.
EDIT: I stand corrected. Act IV came out in mid-2016, and then there wasn't much for about a year, when they announced it was due in early 2018 [External Link]. Then they released an Act V poster in late 2018 and haven't posted a single bit of news on Steam since, although allegedly they give little dribs and drabs and promises of "soon" on their Patreon, which nets them a tidy sum each month. Even so, I think we can slot it into the "Ridiculously late, we'll be lucky to ever see it" category by this point.
Quoting: ArehandoroI thought Dead Synchronicity was a standalone game? It definitely didn't feel unfinished when I completed it. As for KRZ the last episode is set to be released this year, perhaps we are lucky enough :)Hasn't KRZ been due "this year" for about three years now? I remember when they said it'd be released for the Switch in, what was it, 2017?
Pretty sure we won't be seeing it any time soon.

Oh, that's funny. If you click the penguin icon to filter for Linux games, but have Proton enabled for all games, then it doesn't filter anything. Which is behaviour I thought they were going to fix from the old version, but apparently not.

Also, permadeath in Caves of Qud is a similarly silly thing to have by default. It's great for challenge runs, but in a game that's centred around a larger story, I dunno if that works. Doubly so since deaths there are often arbitrary.

Quoting: razing32Wait, there's microtransactions now? I haven't played for a while, so I wasn't aware of it. What are you paying for?Quoting: igimenezExpect to die all the time, but don't get frustrated. In most of the cases is for your own fault xD In this game i learn the importance of mobilityThat's kind of what puts me off rogue likes in general. If the run is short i don't mind. Been enjoying Risk of rain wih friends recently.
But when the game is huge , there's a story , a lore you get immeresed in only to have the rug pulled from under you for one mistake is just too frustrating.
I think TOME does a good thing in giving you a n00b option. And the diversity of races/classes etc is still there for me to enjoy.
A bit peeved they added microtransactions.

And to no one's surprise, Obsidian's first game since getting acquired by Windows...does not support Linux, despite being made in the Unreal engine. Shocking, I know.

I like ToME, but haven't played it in ages due to two big frustrations: OOD monsters in early dungeons and the game being very unclear about the next things to do after the first few dungeons. If they've done something about the second one at least, I'd be interested in giving it another try.

Quoting: MalIt's worth noting that the majority of people are not immune to psychological pressure and manipulation, even if they think they are. It's possible that some people who don't respond to social cues and the like are not vulnerable, but the rest of us are. You can tell yourself that you're immune to marketing all you like, but you're not. Neither am I. If it was only the very vulnerable (prone to addition, children, etc.) who are affected by this stuff, predatory practices in games like Fortnite or Candy Crush wouldn't be as widespread a problem as they are.Quoting: namikoIt's an issue of responsibility: How much should the average citizen be responsible for their own foolish mistakes?Your average citizen has little issues with loot boxes. Apart from playing a game that is made purposely inconvenient and more frustrating to make loot boxes more appealing and the constant psychological pressure that derives from that. But when it comes to fork additional money, the average user will just pass.
Your minority of gambling vulnerable/addicted individuals instead (be it for education issues, brain damage, genetic trait), the so called whales, they'll do have issues given that they simply can't control their spending when stimulated in specific ways.

At this point I don't know why Steam even bothers hiding their sale dates, given none of them are really a big surprise. Hallowe'en sale will take place....over Hallowe'en. Winter sale over Xmas/New Year's. Autum sale between the two. Pretty much the same as always.

What would be interesting is to require, with every real-money purchase on microtransactions, a cumulative tally be displayed showing how much was spent on the game that day/week/total amount. I would imagine simply seeing how quickly runaway spending can occur on those sorts of games would give a lot of players pause.
