I've had my eye on this one for about a year or so now, and the devs are very active. From the updates they've posted, it looks like there's been a lot of progress already.

Quoting: KimyrielleThere are a couple of Elder Scrolls games in there (I saw Daggerfall and Redguard at least), and I dunno if Bethesda are the sort to just look the other way even if they're not still selling the games.Quoting: mahThis project really legal? They didn't say in their announcement, but I can't imagine that it's technically legal, at least I can't remotely begin to imagine the manpower and time needed to track down and contact hundreds of copyright holders to get the necessary permission. And even if it's abadonware, you still cannot make it available in such way without permission. Copyright law is really clear about that you cannot do ANYHING with a protected work, unless with explicit permission or when the law explicitly allows it.
I seems, they can't clear copyright problems.
OTOH, I can't see anybody suing them over it, either. These games have no commercial value anymore.

Quoting: cprnYup, there are minor sound issues... but I played the good old Prince of Persia for a bit and I loved it! :D Cheats don't work, though... :(Minor sound issues, actively painful to listen to...it's a fine line.

Hm. Tried a couple of games, and results were....bad.
Princess Maker 2 gave me badly stuttering sound with SoundBlaster mode, and no sound at all with the other two modes.
Wizardry VII had great sound, but I had zero control over the cursor with keyboard or mouse, so couldn't get past the first menu.
Robotron 2084 is apparently just a demo version (it gives an address in Canada for the full version) and has the same stuttering sound as Princess Maker 2. Also, I figured out how to shoot but not move. Arrows and WASD both non-fuctional so I died fast anyway.
The Hidden Below gave me the usual menu to choose SoundBlaster or other sound options, then led me through a series of menus in German which I think was for more sound-related stuff. It's hard to tell. In any case, this time the sound had an echo. More of a crackle than a stutter as well. Still pretty awful. Game actually worked at least, if a bit slow.
Might and Magic 4 - Clouds of Xeen - Sound is great! Animations run smoothly! An absolute joy for the eyes and ears after all those others. Same problem as Wizardry though, as I can't interact with the menus at all. Pity.
So yeah, not exactly a good experience thus far.

So they finally provided an option between "no monsters" and "ALL the monsters"? That's something that's been keeping me from returning to it after playing a bunch of it a few years ago.
What have you been playing recently and what do you think about it?

I ticked 2064: Read Only Memories off my backlog and while it's a good game with a lot of strengths, there are a few things that didn't really appeal to me. The linearity of it for one. I got the strong impression that my character was merely along for the ride while everyone else did all the heavy lifting in the story. That led me to feel like every time someone called me a good friend or said I played a big role, it was a hollow sentiment. Then there were two of the mandatory mini-games, neither of which were very clear about their mechanics, and I managed to make it through almost entirely via luck. The last thing was the ending, which seemed way too utopian, given the underlying darker tone of a good deal of the story. Things just work out too easily for me to really buy it.
That said, I loved the music, the characters, the voiceover, the aesthetic and about 90% of the story itself. So it was worth playing. I just wouldn't do it a second time, is all.

Quoting: SalvatosInteresting to see so many people giving this a pass just because it has a specific main character. Maybe I’m too used to point-and-clicks and other games where this is customary, but do those people also miss out on the likes of Zelda, Metroid or Tomb Raider for the same reason? From the hour-ish I watched yesterday, it seems less like a "specific" main character so much as an "everyman" one. Hue seems to have a lot less of what set Link apart as a lead, in terms of design and the rest. His early story could easily have been anyone's, so being able to customize would work just fine with what they have.

Quoting: Liam DaweDid 505 actually make the decision to pull the plug on Bloodstained, or was that the dev, ArtPlay? Seems a bit odd that the publisher would make that call.Quoting: Alm888"505 Games"…You don't win over publishers by not buying games.
