I backed it, but I'm basically waiting for it to be complete before actually playing it (aside from seeing if it runs at all, which I've done). Looke very impressive so far though.

Not sure why they're trying to make a connection to DOOM with the name and visual style of the logo. There's nothing else in the trailer that makes any kind of callback to it.

I'll agree with scaine's assessment -- buy it immediately. Not because the price will go up at some point, but because it's that good!

Basically it's a recognition that the core API is stable and has been for some time, and adoption of a more consistent versioning system without the baggage that a "1.0" release (assumption that it's "complete", etc.) generally carries with it.
