I've played this in windows and I was not all that impressed, as opposed to something like LFD2, which is obviously lots more polished and full of content. This game lacks those 2 things.

Which wine version? Proprietary drivers?actual wine and actual proprietary drivers. I can tell the exact versions next time I'm on my machine.
As I said, there are some glitches, but (from my point of view) very few.

What kind of setup do you have, that you can run it? If I may askUbuntu 14.04, nvidia GTS250, wine with some winetricks (mostly to get steam running)

You skip Civ5 because of Eador . How you even managed to play that thing is beyond my belief with it's graphical glitches.
I am able to play it in wine since several month with very few graphical glitches. Only need to change the graphic settings every time I load a game. Kind of annoying, but ok for me.

I'm glad they're taking responsibility and are attempting to improve their product... Was the community too harsh? Maybe. But you can't blame people for feeling they got short changed for something they paid for. I think the consumer has every right to press their demands, and if employees of the company want to take it personally, it is not our problem
