Another thing to note about this game was that it was made on Linux (the lead developer uses Ubuntu).

Quoting: Craggles086failed to comprehend that UP was Thrust.
This is only when "classic mode" controls are enabled - I don't think that's the default?

Quoting: Craggles086Starting again I finally realised that left stick was not just steering but also thrust, which I hate
Enabling "classic mode" might be what you're after then, but the previous comment suggested you were already using that? Here's both for reference.
Screenshots of both control schemes
The speedrun options screen also allows in-game dialogue to be turned off if you hadn't spotted that (unless you're referring to the 40 second scroll only the opening of the first level that can be over in about 5 or so if you hold down the fire button - I don't think anything lets you further skip that).

Quoting: PhiladelphusYeah, gotta keep all those Hemiptera away from our Hymenoptera!
They are known to be a little unstable.
Weird science: A vinehopper scientist expelled from the venerable Academy of Sweet Sciences has come to the hive asking for Honey to perform unsanctioned experiments.

Quoting: whizseLook at the list of supported platforms at the end of the trailer, and the order they are listed in! That's the way to do it!
Doesn't make sense to sort them by anything other than alphabetical order IMO (looking forward to doing Amiga ports of my games someday :D )!

If you weren't aware, Hive Time (like all of my games) was made on Linux too.

Quoting: mirvHive Time is actually my own personal Game of the Year. I generally just have the one hive that I play around with, reload, play around with, reload...and so on. Sometimes just to watch the bees go about their business.

Hap-bee Beethday!
Aww, thank you <3

Closed Hands is a deep work of interactive fiction following a terror attack

Disclaimer: I was contracted to help get Linux builds of this game off the ground and into people's hands, and I assisted with the Steam release as well.

Quoting: JanneDid you try it? It sounds like it could be either trite or very profound.
If it's helpful to know, Closed Hands is available under a pay-what-you-want model on Itch if you'd like to get a feel for the game before deciding whether it's something you'd like to buy or not.

As mentioned above, the Itch version does not come with the extras/enhancements included in the Steam version.

Edit: The game's lead developer has also had some personal experiences of a terrorist attack, which might be useful context to know, but I think the game's writing and narratives do a good job of speaking for themselves.

Return a wasteland to green glory in the upcoming Terra Nil

Quoting: Purple Library GuyBegin with the water system, huh? Of course in reality there's weird feedback between vegetation and water systems--deforestation tends to reduce rainfall, for instance. That'd be a pain to model and might increase the game difficulty, though.
If you haven't played the prototype, you start by detoxifying, then using irrigation to allow initial greenery. In the third phase (which doesn't unlock until you're a couple of levels in), you construct steam generators to increase humidity enough to allow a proper water cycle to propagate and everything that's already grown that to be sustainable without your infrastructure. It's still not quite realistic, and I'm sure it'll be expanded a bit for the full release, but even in the prototype it's a bit deeper than it might seem from the trailer.
