Beyond that though, the flavour and tone of the story (the story itself being rather than the background against which those play out, of course) can shift dramatically depending upon your actions. If you want a completely different take, try not talking to Delilah at all.

There are a bunch of really valid reasons to not pursue this for as frequent a show as this, with the biggest one being that there's a lot more overhead with regards to editing and producing video content than there is with audio content.

Sometimes ports just take a long time (just like any software development), and having the game be a moving target thanks to continued development for all platforms can slow things down in ways that aren't relevant to most post-release ports.
Sometimes you feel like you're close, and you think that maybe when you solve the current problem that you're on, the port will be done. You don't know what you haven't encountered yet though, and expectations around timeframes can change without there being an actual delay.

With regards to difficulty, if you die enough times at the same point in the game (might be 10 times? I can't recall), the game will allow you to switch to "soft mode".
I helped test Linux version of the game in the leadup to release, but didn't get to finish the full game until yesterday. The game is about twice as long as I was expecting based on the beta content (I think I'd pushed through the beta content in about 3 hours, and the full game took me 6 or so).
For anybody who is in love with the game, it's also this month's IndieBox [External Link] title. I'm not certain what is in the box this time around, but I suspect it's going to be the only opportunity to get a physical copy of this game.
RIVE is packed full of references to classic games (in particular people seem to be getting a big buzz out of the Tetris sequence that has a remix of the Tetris theme), but it has the charm and polish I've come to expect from Two Tribes and enough for it to feel like a solid game even without the homages.
At most, I have two small gripes with the game - one is that the protagonist's dialogue gets old fast on a second playthrough, and the other is that some of the time focused sequences like the rising lava or the descending spiked roof are tuned a little tighter than I'd have done (although they may be more approachable in "soft mode").
At any rate, it's a lovely game and a wonderful swan song from a long-time Linux friendly development studio.
Also, note the presence of Linux porter Edward Rudd in the credits and shoot a thank-you his way :)

Like Flesk, I also helped beta test this game. I wasn't expecting it to captivate me the way it did, and was pleasantly surprised by its structure, pacing and thoughtful level design.
