Noclip have done an interesting documentary on how GOG came to be

Quoting: ShmerlFunny they are calling it "Gee-O-Gee". When they speak in Polish they call it "G-O-G".
They gave up on GOG being an abbreviation for Good Old Games, but it's still just three letters. It's likely they do not think it's important how people pronounce these letters as long as they remember them. :)

Thoughts on the Corsair STRAFE RGB Mechanical Keyboard with Cherry MX Silent Switches

Quoting: tuubiI'm severely allergic to this backlight nonsense,
You know, I used to feel the same way, and then I bought a laptop with backlit keys. I liked the backlit keys enough that my next laptop had to have 'em.
Can you actually buy a reasonably high-end (business) laptop without a backlit kb these days? I've used a couple, but they didn't change my mind about desktop keyboard backlights being just pointless bling. Not quite as pointless as cooling fan LEDs, but still.

I'm severely allergic to this backlight nonsense, but I could go for a decent (non-rgb) Ducky with silent switches if they weren't so damn expensive.

Quoting: GuestUrgh, metric measurements.
Yay, metric measurements!

The sci-fi mystery game 'The Station' sold around 15% on Linux with low overall Steam sales

Quoting: GuestAverage Steam sales numbers were about 32,000 in 2015. It should be noted that now it's probably even lower due to the massive boom in Steam releases caused by Steam Direct.
A wholly unscientific steamspy.com crawl seems to indicate that "0 .. 20,000" is actually the most common amount of sales for an indie game, even for games released well before Steam Direct.

8-Bit Adventures 2, a retro-inspired RPG that aims to be more than just a throwback will support Linux

Quoting: CriticalGamesAUHi everyone, developer of 8-Bit Adventures 2 here - thanks for the comments! =D
Good luck with the release, and keep us posted! I failed to mention this in my previous comment, but I really like what I see.

Quoting: slaapliedjeLove the dig at the Atari ST...
Sorry, couldn't resist even if it made no sense. :P I actually had a foot in both camps and never took part in that particular war.

Do you think? I guess 20.000 could be fine for such a game.
Yeah, could be worse for a short, relatively obscure indie.

Point and click adventure with six different endings 'A Rite from the Stars' released with Linux support (updated)

Quoting: EikeI don't feel like it forces me to play again. It just gives more meaning to my single playthrough. (Generally spoken, I don't know about this game.)
I just end up feeling like I'm missing some of the content. It's hard to be a completionist who gets bored easily.

Looks fun!

Too bad about the trendy choices/consequences and multiple endings bullshit. (I'll retract these words if there's more to it than slogging through hours of the same with maybe minor dialogue differences and a different ending sequence.)

Slime Rancher adds in happy little helper drones

Quoting: TheSHEEEPMechanically, I found the game to be rather shallow. There is great breadth here and that can keep you busy for a while, but extremely little depth.
Maybe not unexpected and maybe that fits the cute style, but one should not expect this game to last for a very long time.
There seems to be quite a lot to discover. I'm just hoping the rather repetitive grind to get there won't kill my motivation. Feels a bit too sandboxy, maybe. Well, I guess knew what I was in for, although I was hoping for a balance between fun and chores more in line with Stardew Valley.

I'll keep playing in short stints. I'm not bored with it just yet.
