The RPG 'Battle Chasers: Nightwar' has finally officially launched on Linux

Are randomly-generated dungeons really such a great feature that they deserve double entries in the feature list? The game looks beautiful, but I can't think of a "console RPG great" that's based on random dungeons instead of a properly designed game world. I guess the inspiration is limited to style of art and some details of gameplay, leaving out the best bits like proper story progression and world building.

I hope a full review disproves my first impressions.

Rocket League is going to the beach with a new arena on May 29th

As always: yay for free content.

Quoting: DissCentI gotta say that I'm really fed up with this game since they decided to "equalize" all maps so it's always the same size and the same shape. I was a great fan of the Neo Tokyo map when it was still different from most of the standard maps. But as always, "pro league" is way too important for the publisher and so they decided that all maps need to be of the same shape. This makes the game incredibly boring for me.
What about playing Rumble mode?
There's also Rocket Labs in casual for the properly weird arenas. But I do agree that the change was unnecessary. I still quite enjoy the game though. With friends and in small doses.

Valve seem to be tightening their rules on games with sexual content

How different are these rules compared to other storefronts? Is Valve being focused on because they've got the largest platform on PC? I do know GOG's vetting process is quite strict (and cryptic), but I see they've got HuniePop at least. And while itch.io allows you to upload pretty much anything, I'm sure they would respond to reports of outright criminal content like child porn.

Quoting: TiedemannMaybe they end up like Netflix that has it's own censored versions crap. Soon we'll have to buy from somewhere else to get the "real" thing, like the uncut version.
I think I've already bumped into a discussion of games on Steam for which you can download official "uncensor" patches from the developer's website directly. If I remember correctly, this list included HuniePop. Don't know if other stores sell "uncut" versions of these games.

For the original Myst or Riven you'll be better off with ScummVM.

Quoting: DarthJarjarSo, are we entering the silver age of videogames?
I can't wait to see what the "videogame code authority" will look like.
What do you mean? First of all, this isn't anything new, and we're talking about a single storefront making changes to their rules. This comment thread is full of hyperbole and overreaction. There's no indication that all sexual content and nudity in games is under threat. In fact the trend has been in the opposite direction.

What are you playing on Linux this weekend and what do you think about it?

West of Loathing. Don't let the stick figures fool you, the comedy is top notch and the gameplay is fun as well. I'll also play some Rocket League with friends, and of course a bit of Dirt Rally. I never seem to bore of those two. I got American Truck Sim gifted to me as well, installed and waiting for a test drive.

Quoting: XpanderI don't really get it. its all wrong way imo. Violence seems to be fine, blood, gore, killing.
then some nudity is so bad. If i had children, i think violence would be much much worse than some soft nudity.

but meh we are living in a weird world i guess.
Sex has been involved in all deaths that have happened. Violence has only been involved in some deaths that have happened. Therefore sex is more dangerous than violence and should thus be kept out of sight and out of mind as much as possible.

(The joke is that sex is required for people to exist and therefore for there to be death there has to have been sex.)
I'm usually too dumb for jokes, but properly explained ones always make me roflmao so hard!

Always consult a lawyer before fapping. Especially if you've got a lawyer fetish. You weirdo.

But that is not the case at all. HuniePop does not contain children in sexual context. At best it has characters that may appear to be young.
I haven't played HuniePop so I'll take your word for it, but I was commenting on the whole banning games for sexual content issue in general.

If Valve only bans games with children in a sexual context, I don't mind at all. You can fight all you want about technicalities and cultural differences and whatnot, but we won't actually lose anything worthwhile if they do. There must be other platforms for such "art". There's no good reason to make it easily accessible.

I'm not quite as vehemently opposed to (late) teens in similar situations, because as you might have noticed, teens do have sex and they do also play games. As long as it's not about something like rape fantasies or whatever, I'm okayish with it. I might not be the target audience, but I sure as hell once was, back in the day when we used to ride dinosaurs to school.

I don't mind (consensual) sex and nudity in general in my entertainment. The glorification of violence is much more of a problem.
