I'm not offended by some creative profanity when it's called for, but I have to agree that the amount of f-bombs I hear every day simply smells of what could be called edgelord culture. This is just one manifestation of a bigger problem to me, mainly affecting media but bleeding into everything else. Sometimes it feels like the emotional age of our global society has plummeted by at least a couple of decades in the time we've aged as much. Subtlety and wit are now signs of weakness.

I know I kind of shat on the Bridge Constructor series in a comment to a previous article on this game, but I think I just can't pass it up. The first couple of games were pretty abysmal, but at least Bridge Constructor Medieval was entertaining enough. And Portal is love.

I know it's free, but you'd have to pay me to torture myself with this insanity. Never mind the brown pants, I have enough trouble sleeping as it is.

Would be a great day when it supports more 3D Adventure games. You mean it plays more than Grimm Fandango?
The rather silly and quite good 'Crashlands' is now officially on Linux

But do try libcurl-compat.so.4.5.0. I guess it can't hurt. Another option would be to try using the full steam runtime instead of steam-native.

Quoting: tumocshttps://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/x86_64/libcurl-compat/
That package should help.
Then you LD_PRELOAD=libcurl-compat.so.4.5.0 or whatever it happens to be.
EDIT: Ofcourse first check if manjaro has the compatibility lib in it's own repos.
Quoting: ziabiceIf you ask, I already have libcurl-compat and libcurl-gnutls installed, as dependencies of steam-native package. I also have the 32-bit versions of libcurl.:P

EDIT: Too slow.
Just a stab in the dark.
Quoting: ziabiceI'm on Manjaro and the game tells me:Should you maybe preload the older libcurl? Try adding "LD_PRELOAD=libcurl.so.3 %command%" to the launch options in Steam.
./Crashlands: /usr/lib/libcurl.so.4: version `CURL_OPENSSL_3' not found (required by ./Crashlands)

Any help?

I bought the Blackwell Bundle [External Link] for 1.29€ (-90%). Not bad for four old-school adventure games with great reviews. I'm actually familiar with the series and Dave Gilbert's work in general from the time I used to hang out at the AGS forums a decade ago, but I haven't gotten around to actually playing any of these. Should provide a few hours of budget fun.

I'm not trying to sound negative, I really hope Atari's gambit succeeds. And of the consoles, Nintendo's slice of the pie is the one an affordable "indie box" might actually take a bite out of.

Quoting: g000hIf the Nintendo Switch is "big enough" to get DOOM and Skyrim ported to it. Then if a popular name like Atari manages to pull this off as a big hit - Then Skyrim, DOOM could be ported to Atari Box... and who knows, maybe regular Linux will eventually get titles like that.TBF Nintendo is still huge. Atari's brand alone won't do much here, and popularity doesn't mean anything if it isn't backed by the market. I doubt Bethesda bases their business decisions on hype or nostalgia.
