Go ahead, rail at big budget team projects but being mad at indies for looking cheap is just inane and frankly obnoxious. Who appointed you the grand arbitrator of aesthetic value anyway?

Quoting: Whitewolfe80Yes creating a game takes talent, but i hope that creativity would lead them to look at just how many pixel barf games (broforce is a fun game but looks terrible) are available and then decide on a different art style.Sadly, there's more to it than picking a style. They also need the skill and the resources to produce said art or the cash to commission it. It is extremely unrealistic to expect every developer to be equally talented in all aspects of their work. I thought my point was obvious, but I guess it got lost in the sarcasm.

Quoting: Whitewolfe80for f*ck sake enough of this bad pixel shite at least make the games look like a 16 bit game instead of mess of blocks.(owlboy is retro pixels done right)Yeah, why didn't they simply make it as pretty as Owlboy? It's just art, right? It's not like it requires real talent, skill, effort or time. I'm sure the developer appreciates and will take heed of your super constructive criticism. [/snark]

Quoting: lucifertdarkThe last time I bought a pre-built PC it was obsolete before I'd even got it out of the store, that the PCs biggest strength & weakness, you can upgrade it but it's already obsolete the moment you decide which one you want.Yes and no. My 7-year-old Sandy Bridge i7 is still powerful enough for all my gaming needs. If you don't go for the absolutely cheapest components (or laptops) and don't expect to run every new game at ultra settings, barring HW failures (thank almighty Tux for guarantees/warranties) you can squeeze a good bit of use out of them. The GPU is the one component you will need to keep updating every couple of years.

All the games I'm actually interested in are in the lowest tier. None of them support Linux though so I guess I'll just save that dollar.

I really like what I see.
Good luck Joure and please, pay heed to BTRE's advice and don't be afraid to make use of our community. Plenty of experienced developers and testers around, most of us eager to help you succeed on our favourite platform.

I really like how their games look and feel, but I just can't seem to enjoy the actual gameplay. I have no idea why exactly.

Quoting: lucifertdarkThey're seriously prioritising the WiiU version? Why?Probably because they expect their JRPG to sell better on a Japanese console platform, even if it's not the most popular one.

It's nice that they didn't forget us. I haven't played a decent traditional JRPG in ages.
