Quoting: EhvisSo Mad Max counts as 2016, since the Linux version released in 2016. Right?

Yeah it was a good question, it's released for LINUX during 2016.
Mad Max nominations have already been accepted into several categories. Consider your question answered.

Quoting: EikeOf 15 "silver" games:
* all available for Windows
* 9 available for Mac
* 8 available for Linux

(It seems to be more like a top 97 by the way, if I'm able to count.)
You seem to be missing some of them, maybe due to your location. I see 16 games in the silver tier, 9 of which are available for Linux. Payday 2 not showing for you maybe?

Quoting: tuubiYeah I think they were already on sale. Valve's being a bit confusing once again.

Valve's not being confusing for people who can read. It's pretty clear in huge letters on the store frontpage
"TOP-SELLING GAMES
Last chance to get great deals on the best sellers from this Steam Winter Sale".
Seems to have confused some and I doubt they're illiterate. Also we're not talking about the store front page.

What I find really cool is that in the top three tiers (silver to platinum) for every game that supports Mac but not Linux there's a game that supports Linux but not Mac. The percentage of games supporting Linux is huge compared to the percentage of actual gamers on Linux. Bodes well for the future of the platform I think.

Quoting: oldrocker99It's not only New Year, but also my 45th wedding anniversary! And my wife lets me play games :D !
Congratulations on having a cool wife! :)

Quoting: oldrocker99A very happy New Year from an old (and I mean old) rocker to all!
Keep on rockin' good man!

One thing I love about this community is that we aren't fussy about irrelevant details like age or sex or nationality. As long as you like games and are vaguely penguin-shaped, or even just a part-time penguin, you are welcome. <3

Happy 2017! Sadly no rum for me tonight. I could really go for a swig of good old Matusalem right about now.

Thanks guys. My impression of the Metro games seems to have been a bit off. I've already exhausted (and exceeded) my Winter Sale budget, but I will get the bundle in the next sale. :)

Quoting: tuubiThe Metro games proclaim "full controller support" so I assume it's not all hardcore twitch action, but how's the difficulty? Can I expect to enjoy the story even if I'm not that keen on (or very good at) FPS action?
It can range from really easy to hardcore crazy depending on your difficulty settings.
Ah, so there's an easy difficulty level available. Good enough for me. Thanks.

Quoting: GuestAnybody here likes the idea of including the continent where the GOL member resides?

North America
South America
Europe
Africa
Asia
Australia
Antarctica

I think it's good to know how Linux gamers are distributed around the world :)
Seeing as we're all penguins, I'd bet Antarctica is surprisingly well represented. Although I think most species actually live in places like South America, Australia and New Zealand.

But seriously, I guess this could be useful. Though I don't know if GOL's userbase is exactly representative of the larger Linux gaming community. The English-speaking world and the western countries would most likely be overrepresented in comparison to the actual market. But developers should understand this. And maybe this is interesting to some GOL users.

The Talos Principle stable build updated, includes the latest improvements for Vulkan (updated)

Quoting: tuubiEDIT: I spoke too soon. Got a hard freeze right after I wrote this. Oh well, back to OpenGL for now.

I used 'Enhanced Stability' in BIOS for all possible options. RAM, CPU .. etc. Every error in RAM could be fatal. Also i dont have ECC RAM to test with.

I think some people get crashes with lastest Nvidia Driver. Look what version i'm used. Try with it.
Nah, the game runs well enough with OpenGL. I was curious but I won't lose any sleep over this. Maybe I'll try again when the Vulkan backend is finished / no longer in beta.
