KURSK, an adventure and survival game about the tragedy of destroyed submarine will support Linux

I guess it should play something like Alien: Isolation and/or SOMA? I'd prefer an adventure (with real puzzles and dialogue, not a walking simulator) in a similar style, but without the stress or survival. I'm still veeeery slowly working my way through A:I, and it's a great game, but I think I like my adventures better without the frustration. At least provide an easy difficulty level like most "real" action/FPS games do. I'm in it for the story and the puzzles, not the pants-soiling.

Quoting: EhvisIt has an ancient lcd game!
Please don't say ancient. It makes me feel so old. :/

We had the awesome original Mario Bros. with the "bros" working at a bottling plant (I thought they were plumbers?) and good old Donkey Kong Jr. when I was a kid. Sadly both long since broken and gone. All the remakes and digital versions just wouldn't feel the same.

Quoting: legluondunetI own the Megatron Edition and I still can play this game with steam untill i uninstalled it from my hard drive.
The game is still in your library and you can reinstall it as many times as you like. You just can't buy it anymore.

I've also got the Atomic Edition on GOG, but I've only played it for a few minutes. It was fun back in the day, but I think I'll leave it for when I've got absolutely nothing else to play.

Quoting: bubexelwell, almost 60% games that appear on steam are windows exclusive
That's not up to Valve.
As far as I know, they require all games to have a Windows version. They could require all games to have a Linux version. Or at least drop the Windows requirement.
Requiring a Windows version isn't nice (if true), but refusing non-Linux content would be a bit stupid at this point.

That's not up to Valve. They've said they'd prefer all of them to be cross-platform. I don't think any of Valve's own games are exclusive to a single platform.
AFIK, Alien Swarm isn't available on anything but Windows (of course, it has the source files for it available which somebody with more time than me could look at porting to a Linux compatible version of the Source engine).
Oh, that's the free thingy valve paid some modders to make? I think my point still stands, if a bit uncomfortably. :) The point being Valve doesn't like exclusives.

I bet Mr. Wright's benchmarking sessions always end with an outrageous twist, just like his trials.

Quoting: HamishNo offence intended to Mr. Tyson, but it would probably be more accurate to describe him as being a popular scientist instead, given his prominence as a science communicator over his more academic work.
That is true, but I'd argue that popular science is just as important as hard (unpopular? :)) science. Shared science is the best science.
It was not meant as a value judgment, but the reason you know him is because he is on television, rather than for his actual studies and the work he has done as an astrophysicist and cosmologist.
I believe you didn't mean to diss him. I'm just a bit tired of the old "Those who can't, teach" idiocy when applied to people in science. No I'm not a scientist nor a teacher, just don't like the G.B. Shaw quote. Many of the most well known scientific geniuses (genii?) have spent much of their lives teaching, or communicating their thoughts.

Sorry for the tangent.

My friends can keep their galaxies. I hope the offline, non-social part is what makes up the bulk of the game.

I'm not a fan of his TV show, but he knows his stuff.
