@KyleGospo - That's fair enough. I assume that the people that work on Bazzite don't do these things without a good reason. If a GNOME/GTK program works better than the KDE equivalent, then I can't exactly fault the Bazzite team for going with what works better for the end user.
I do like Bazzite a lot, and it's been working very well. Despite my earlier comment, I really don't have any intention of moving away from Bazzite because of the presence of GNOME/GTK software.
So, I apologize if my earlier comment came across as rude or disrespectful. Thank you for the work you guys have done, and are doing.

Since I use Bazzite on my desktop with Plasma, I don't like how many GNOME/GTK programs they throw in the image. I just recently noticed that they replaced KDE Partition Manager with GNOME Disks; and I already knew in advance they'd be replacing Discover with a GTK software center. Although the one they mentioned before was flatpost; Bazaar is the new GNOME software center. Great.
Part of me wonders if I should rebase to Aurora, or return to Kubuntu. The former means I'd have to rely on the Steam Flatpak, and the latter means I'd have to yet again go through the motions of removing Snap (and I have to do this every OS update).
For better or worse, it looks like I'm stuck with Bazzite on my desktop.

I very much enjoy using Bazzite on my desktop (and Aurora on my laptops) because it works very well for gaming and general usage. If this proposal had become reality, I would've had to find another distro; and finding one that does everything needed OOTB for gaming like Bazzite would be difficult. There's a good reason Bazzite has gotten as popular as it has; I even recommend it to people interested in switching to Linux but still want to game.
I'm not a programmer/developer/whatever, so most of the technical jargon goes over my head. All I know is that 32-bit libraries are still needed for things like gaming, and that we're not at a point where everything can be containerized. More than a few people pointed out the issues with things like the Steam Flatpak in that Fedora discussion thread.
It's also apparent from that same thread that several people from Fedora don't give a hoot about gaming and would axe 32-bit tomorrow if they could. Fair enough, I suppose, since Fedora is a distro that likes to push new things, and I imagine a lot of the people who work on Fedora would prefer not to maintain old things.
It makes me wonder if making gaming-focused distros like Nobara and Bazzite based on Fedora was a mistake.

Bazzite would shut down if Fedora goes ahead with removing 32-bit

I've been using Bazzite comfortably for almost a year and I'd really rather not have to find a replacement distribution for my desktop. I could go back to Kubuntu, but then I'd have to deal with Snaps again...no thanks.

Thanks for the post; just deleted my account.
I only used Nexus once to get a mod for Zone of the Enders The 2nd Runner MARS, and that required me to make an account. Now that I've long since applied the mod, I no longer need the account.

Bazzite Linux announced two new editions designed for game developers

That said, Bazzite is perfectly usable as a daily driver. I installed the Desktop Edition on my PC to replace Kubuntu, and it does everything I need. I get a better gaming experience OOTB, while still being usable for daily tasks.

Is there any edition of this that aims to be general purpose (or general programming purpose)? I'd guess this market niche is covered by immutable Fedora spins, but they have their painpoints and I'd love to try other options.Yeah, that's what Bluefin (GNOME) and Aurora (KDE) are for. I have Aurora installed on my ThinkPads.

I'm intrigued because of the Latin America setting. That said, I would prefer Spanish and/or Portuguese (if Brazil is involved) dialogue with subtitles.

For as much praise as I've seen Fedora get in recent years, their Flatpak repo comes across as a rather surprising oversight.

I can't tell whether they got the original voice cast back, or they're just re-using all the voice recordings from the original game.
I like that Snake vs Monkey is back. I don't like that this uses Unreal Engine.
