Right now, I'm just hoping Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water becomes playable with Proton at some point. Right now, it's a no-go on Linux, I'm afraid.

I've tried multiple DEs, and while I am still fond of Xfce, I'm a permanent Plasma guy now.
Plasma can do everything I need it do, while also being responsive on my hardware. Breeze (Dark) is an excellent default theme, and honestly, I use mostly Qt applications so being in Plasma-land just makes sense for me.

Proton or Native, I really don't care as long as I can play video games without having to use Windows. I left Windows behind last year and I'd really prefer not to go back.

I'm not surprised. Hopefully they can use the extra time to work more on Proton, as well as SteamOS 3.0.

I've installed Steam multiple times on different flavors of Ubuntu, as well as Debian (which is now my permanent home). I've never had an issue getting Steam to work, so I am quite surprised that something like this happened.

Not interested.
Just another DE, and one that will be GTK-based at that. They don't want to be based off GNOME, but they also don't want to leave GTK...which is dominated by what GNOME does. Seems rather silly.
They could help contribute to KDE and Plasma, but whatever, it's their call. As much as I like Xfce, I'm sticking with Plasma, and not going back to the GTK ecosystem.

CS: GO always results in a black screen, and ProtonDB's page on it supports as much. That's at least one "native" port that means nothing.
