Quoting: maodzedunI wonder it it's possible for a news like that to not be followed by passive aggressive trolling... Guess not.God forbid anyone criticize the "great" Garry Newman.

Quoting: Stupendous ManIn that case, I recommend you use Privacy Badger and Ghostery (if you use chromium), and browse through a VPN. If I'm not mistaken, uBlock only blocks ads, not trackers. If you use the more extensive filters you can stop trackers, and there's also the default-deny mode which is a lot like request policy. And yeah, a VPN or proxy would truly hide your IP.

Quoting: noinformationhere...it is very easy to open the survey in a private window (Firefox) where any attempt to track you is useless. Close the window when you are done and everything that google may have recorded about you is discarded.I'm sorry but this is simply wrong and horrible advice, for a real solution to stop trackers would be to get something like uBlock. The only difference between "Private" and a normal window is "Private" doesn't load or store cookies. Google can very easily see your IP and depending on how you have your browser configured, which I take it yours tells a lot, Google can read a lot of information about you!

I'm back on my desktop after on and off dealing with nVidia Optimus on my Lenovo. Besides the fact almost every laptop has awful keyboards, I just go so fed up with having a broken graphics card practically. It seemed to be fine on older kernels with just the nVidia drivers, but recently it's been so bad I just gave up and here I am. What's even more interesting is it seems the newer kernel is also slowing down this card I have in here. Either that or Source games just run really bad for me (as that's all I've tested so far). At least I get to use my soundcard instead of that terrible HDAudio! Also before anyone says anything, yes I did use Bumblebee at one point, I will never install it again. Great effort by open source devs but I saw worse results if anything.
End Of An Era, LinuxGames Website Looks To Be Shutting Down

I tried to get into this site, but besides the fact news was almost always months delayed, they felt like making it their plug for personal opinions that may or may not be relevant (beyond game review type of stuff). In a way it's sad to see it die, but GamingOnLinux has been far better in my view.

It still crashes after loading for about 30 seconds on Slackware. I'm very upset because I haven't been able to play this game at all under my system and the support hasn't been there.

Quoting: WorMzyI see Openbox (and openbox!) have (rightly) disappeared from the DE list, but i3 is still there for some reason.. :huh:Shame from what I'm hearing that Intel will be doing forced binary blobs now, shame on them.
It's still frustrating to see that 16.8% of intel GPU users are still confused about their drivers. I wonder if these select few are optimus users.

I sure love Blood, such a great classic FPS! Nice to see official support for it rather than the pain of doing it yourself.

I really hope it comes out this summer, with a Linux server too! Playing MP under Wine is annoying, and trying to run a server has been impossible for me (though some claim they can do it).
