Game Saves Are Messing Up Our Drives!

Quoting: tuxisagamerActually, this is not limited to Linux games. Windows games are just as messy.
Yeah but that's mainly due to the fact Windows can be like a warzone without any rules. Practically everyone does what they want. I believe the person behind this article is trying to stress that there are rules in Operating Systems like Linux, and they should be followed. I don't agree on forbidding them to be on Steam, but I think Valve should take initiative in laying down some guidelines for things like this. Then again, Valve does things their way too...

Reflex, A Potential Successor For Quake Going To Kickstarter

Quake Live was only interesting because it was a browser version of Quake III. Now that that the source of QIII has been out and there's ioQuake3, I don't really see the point of it's existence besides id making money for a former product via in game ads. This however, looks very interesting.

Garry's Mod Hits the 6 Million Mark!

I wish Garry would put more effort into the Linux port, everyone I've known who has played this game on Linux has experienced nothing but problems (one of them even tried it via Wine to just escape the issues).

I think I'm going to miss the Source engine upgrade/mod they were doing, it had a certain charm to it. Whatever the case, I hope this Unity based remake is worth the move and we see some great results in the end.

I hope it uses OpenAL or SDL, I would love to have native OSS4 support too!

The only thing I wish SSR had was built-in support for more than one audio feed, as having to mess around with things like Linux's PulseAudio system to string two feeds together is a real pain, and sometimes not worth the effort when it garbles your sound up. That is one area that OBS Studio trumps it, and I hope the SSR developer looks into it.
As far as I know the guy behind SSR has been looking into for this quite a while but PulseAudio is just, well...difficult to work with in this way.

JACK on the other hand is amazing with SSR (and amazing in general). Highly recommend it.
