Cyberpunk 2077 gets an official Steam Deck setting but seems broken (updated)

Going on expecting CP2077 ultra settings to work without issues on steam deck is wishful thinking. That alone shows you that the game steam deck preset is broken. SD can't handle it. Then again, if you wanted to play on ultra you would not be playing on that specific device.

Quoting: scainei don't even know what you meant when you suggested you wanted more Deck articles, but less games articles?
What? I said that? Seriously dude, you really should try to breathe deeply and read what people say before making assumptions like this one.

What I said was that there are too many PR articles about the console itself (or micro computer with a tiny screen that allows you to play steam games while you shit, if you like) then articles about the actual games. You know, what used to happen before this craziness.

It's obvious that games that work on steam deck also can work on desktop and the contrary could also be true, as long as the game itself supports the steam deck controller. After all, it's just a micro computer with a custom input.

Quoting: eldarionI really hope this fever will pass (no offense to the Steam Deckers out there).
I hope it doesn't. It's one of the biggest things to ever help Linux gaming as a whole, and any games I write about would work on a Linux desktop too.
Only time will tell. It's just that recently the news here looked too much as a Valve PR satalite then a Linux gaming news site. More about steam deck itself and less about actual games.
Don't you think a successful dedicated gaming device running Linux and hundreds, soon thousands of games verified to run on Linux and what most probably will be number one on many game of the years lists running on Linux at least as good as (supposedly better than) on Windows is like medium important for the topic at hand, "gaming on Linux"?
Strange conclusion you made based on what I said. I fail to see where I said it as not important.

Yes! Lets make life on Russia miserable. I'm sure this will help improve their view on us Europeans and Americans. Lets force them to see China as the only solution. I'm sure it will be alright.

You should start thinking about a name change for this site, giving the amount of content about it lately :)

Gaming on Steam Deck.

This is horrible. If there is one thing that tech companies still don't get it is any sense of fashion.

Quoting: HoriBy that logic, games played on the monitor/TV are not worth it either when compared to VR.
Games that were made with VR in mind are indeed best played with a VR set. Not exactly a good analogy there. ;)

I understand you. For each his own. If you are ok to pay 60 bucks on a game to play it while you are pooping, it's fine. That's not a thing I would do, because like a good movie is an experience to be savored, or a good wine, the same applies to a good game. But that is my take on it.

As much as I like seeing devices with Linux being sold, I really don't understand the hype of steam deck. I like playing a good game on a mobile device as much as I like watching a good movie on my phone. Meaning, not at all.

Don't get me wrong, small devices like this are great for casual gaming, but playing Witcher 3 on this is like going to the cinema and only watching half of the screen. You simply don't get the full experience.

Which doesn't officially support Linux ;)
Jesus Christ Liam. As a Linux user, are you really that afraid of a zip file? Just extract it to the override directory and that's it :)
