I can confirm it’s a wonderful game. Doesn’t feel EA at all. I normally bounce hard off these type games but this is the one exception. Absolutely love the lack of timers, resource gathering, but most of all combat. It’s just the build. Wonderful.

Yes! Bring on the updates. Seems they are making great progress. My most anticipated Linux software! I’m waiting until a beta version to try it out live but all these updates sound great.

It's interesting to me that recently the two games I played with mods were via in-game modding tools, so not requiring any form of mod manager, or anything like that.
Starfield had the in-game mod support for whatever they call it (creation engine or something?). I used only simple mods but they helped a TON with QOL stuff that made my entire playthrough MUCH more fun.
And then just recently I finished Rogue Trader, and had an absolute BLAST! Loved it, but there I also used the in-game mod called "toybox" for again, just simple QOL things that eliminated tedium, and fixed some bugs.
I wonder as we go forward into the future, if more and more games will do this, therefore drawing users away from 3rd party tools? Or will 3rd party tools live on forever since they're more free and open.

Also hilarious because I guess this means they have absolutely no other constructive or original ideas coming anytime soon? I guess after Concord lost them a nice cool $200 mil, they have to try and scrape a few pennies out of a remaster of a game that needs no remaster.

Quoting: SakuretsuA totally unnecessary Remaster + mandatory PSN account linking = No, thanks. That's how I feel. At first I thought the rumors of this remaster were just satire, like the studio was making fun of the entire industry with all the remasters everywhere. But nope. Real life.

Steam is just an absolute juggernaut in the space. ESPECIALLY for us linux gamers. There's really no true competition is there? I think it would nice for them to have true competition, but I just don't see that happening anytime soon.
I mean, I absolutely love Steam, but competition is good for the market!

Quoting: CatKillerFor comparison, Epic last reported their EGS peak CCU as 13.2 M in 2021, when their MAU was 62 M and they had 194 M total users. They've got 2023 reports for MAU (75 M) and total users (270 M).lol what on earth do all these acronyms mean!
Valve last reported their MAU for 2021 as 132 M; they haven't reported on the total number of users in a long time.

Unfortunately their language around this is terrible and extremely confusing. There's
Online Online
Online Offline
Offline Offline
modes of play. You have to launch it with a specific option to get into offline offline. That's how I played the entire game through to the endgame and had an absolute blast, and had no chat at all, which I completely agree with you: is super annoying.
Regarding this post: I feel the same as what others have said: This seems totally okay to me, but they should have done a WAY better job communicating this to their players and fans. The way they did it with no comms at all is so amateur hour. They're a big studio, they should know way better.

Quoting: nenoroIt's fineYou can run the game in true offline offline mode which runs only locally and has no online connection at all, therefore no chat.
the game was good before they started to add that pollution named "chat" like in D4 it takes so much space on the UI, it's annoying you can't get rid of because they wanted to go online than solo.
This game had potential then useless players asked for online feature...
It could have been at the same level as Grim Dawn

To me there seems to be just a fundamental misunderstanding from the gnome team about the dimension of ... a screen. You know. The thing you use this software on. I have NEVER understood it. I simply can never use it because of this.
Every single screen on earth is a horizontally wide screen. So gnome puts a gigantic bar across the entire top of the wide screen, which is like 95% unused empty space. For what reason? And then puts ANOTHER horizontal bar across the bottom with apps on it with HUMONGOUSLY GIGANTIC icons for .... reasons?
So they squish the usable space vertically FAR more than it needs to be. And without using hacks / extensions you can't configure it to a single panel on the left or right or top or bottom (but I admit I haven't used it in a long time so not sure if recent updates have changed it).

An object is to provide a user with motivation to enjoy waking up in the morning and guide the user to sufficient awakening by generating a breeding event in a breeding game of a virtual life form when the user wakes up in the morning.
Spoiler, click me
I think a different kind of breeding would provide far better motivation to enjoy waking up in the morning
I'm sorry.

Quoting: dziadulewiczMaybe one day they start consider potential Linux customers first class customers and release the official client. Never bought anything from GOG during all these years because obviously they don't need our monys. And there is always Collection Chamber. This is my feeling toward them as well. If they can't even release a linux client after ALL this time, they clearly don't care about us at all.
