a gentle reminder for everyone who cares about protecting themselves from identity theft (gov's certainly don't - they are counting on it being rampant to gain widespread support for international digital ids) to minimize the external services you use on your internet/phone as - this is just getting started. get a phone that can run lineage or graphene os, what services do you use that aren't self hosted? anything social media related consider it a matter of time til the same requirements will apply. i would be particularly concerned about things you may be subscribed to and pay, to then be potentially be locked out after an unannounced update occurs requiring id, so you can disable alter your paid subscription (eg spotify). the other one would be perhaps another service with your data or photos on it.

as someone who put about 2000 hrs (1000 pre linux days, 1000+ with linux) into bf2, this is great news, however don't you also need to login into nexus mods? would be great if you didn't need nexus mods because that's a bit of a hard pass these days for many people.. doesn't currently affect myself but no doubt down the track it probably will. or is it only if you are playing with a mod that it is required (which would make sense)? just wondering as you know would be fun doing some private matches and have a way to play once ea pulls the pin.

edit - yes ok you can run the server on linux - just not the kyber launcher to run the game on linux..due to WebView2 being requried. nevermind!

Apparently on NVIDIA frame gen may crash some users and also the frame rate could be locked at your display refresh rate even when turning off vsync etc.

Any idea if there is a work around to the locked fps at the screen refresh rate? or is it a vulkan quirk via proton?

More misinformation on linux cheating. It is simply a case that the anticheat path they are choosing is simply incompatible with linux. The narrative of the linux cheater problem is simply trying to buff their reason for choosing kernel-level anticheat and is disingenuous. If one day anti-cheat software was able to enable kernel level anticheat on windows and linux - still wouldn't touch it!
