The Valve-funded shader compiler 'ACO' is being queued up for inclusion in Mesa directly (updated: merged)

Quoting: x_wing
Quoting: sr_ls_boyIs it turned on by default?
Nope

Quoting: phoronixThe ACO back-end with RADV isn't enabled by default at this time but requires setting the RADV_PERFTEST=aco environment variable to activate. Having this mainline is great news for encouraging more testing and feedback. We'll be running some fresh ACO benchmarks shortly for providing the latest Radeon Vulkan performance numbers for Linux gaming.

Yeah, I just saw that at phoronix. I also read that there are some pull requests for nir that are needed which make the master branch worthwhile to compile. Until they get pulled, stick with the aco git repository.

While not on Linux officially, Far Cry New Dawn seems to work amazingly well on Linux

How are they able to get around easy anti-cheat? I literally
had to patch the executable to get Far Cry 5 to run at all.

Someone at Phoronix was looking for a very detailed post by 'i mirkin' concerning the problems with nouveau.
It was a write-up about firmware, VBIOS and overclocking(or the lack thereof). I have the link
but I don't have a Phoronix account.

Quoting: liamdaweWell it was clearly noted it was for NVIDIA.
I'm aware of what you wrote. I was in the middle of a bug report,
where it was requested that I upgrade dxvk. So, I had to ask the
developers. So, no harm done right?

I asked and that commit has no effect on RADV.

VBIOS works.

Wine 4.3 is out with the XAudio2 reimplementation 'FAudio' included

I tried it out without the staging patches and I don't hear audio for 'Far Cry 4', beyond the videos.
So, nothing has changed for me. I'm thinking that SDL2 might be misconfigured. I'm after debians build
logs for sdl2, namely the configure line. I use pulse when compiling wine but I'll try it without it.
