Quoting: Purple Library GuyCan't they just . . . use Proton?
Quoting: Liam DaweMost likely something like something like GE-Proton with ULWGL.But do those straight-up work on ARM with no difficulties? :huh: (I think that was the question being posed.)

Honestly, I'm largely indifferent towards Bomberman Act:Zero (though I do highly recommend that anyone who doesn't know what happened with that should watch this retrospective [External Link] :tongue:). I think the saddest thing, aside from its terrible bleakness and cheaply-made nature (its soundscape is entirely crappy-horror-movie stock screams and effects, and it's honestly bizarre to remember that it was intended as a serious effort meant to be taken oh-so-seriously), is that it was the game that put an end to Hudson Soft.
It's vanishingly rare for a series to survive a buyout, and I'm just glad that this was one of those rare occasions and that Konami and the ex-Hudson staff who remain there saw the value in doing so. :smile:

Quoting: redneckdrowJust nobody mention a certain XBox 360 game... I'd hate to (figuratively) see Pengling angry.😨🫣😱HAHAHAHA! :grin: :tongue:
We might not survive the experience!

Quoting: Liam DaweWell, the entire idea is based around it being Linux, so that won't happen.I think I'm getting a bit jaded, Liam - I've heard it too many times! :tongue:
Apex Legends Global Series postponed due to mid-match hacks

Currently Apex Legends uses Easy Anti-Cheat, which clearly isn't defending against these attacks.And that's anti-cheat in a nutshell. :tongue:
We've seen other EA published titles move over to EA AntiCheat, which blocks Linux, so hopefully EAC will combat it and we don't get left with another broken game that moves over to EA's own tech for it.I'm sure that's what they're angling for. The current industry claim is that Linux is too small of a market but allowing Linux users to play creates masses of cheating that didn't exist otherwise, after all.

Quoting: QYMEAnd steam reviews. They're not that helpful, as they range from "good game, no problem here" to "this is buggy as hell and the gameplay is horrible for x,y & z"I've seen such howlers as "The voice-actors aren't famous enough!" and "It's too colourful.", and, of course, all those useless memes and those "Paste the bunny/kitty of doom into your review and pass it on!" things.

Given the names involved, hopefully this won't end up being yet another one of those cases where it's revealed as a Linux box and then there's a bait-and-switch to "Oops, we're shipping with Windows instead because people asked for it!". As a video game character once amusingly said [External Link], "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, stop foolin' me.".
That said, I wish them all the best! :grin: I want to see this market-segment grow, and not get crushed netbook-style.

Quoting: redneckdrowAll I wanna know is where's the Suikoden remaster? They've moved the goalpost three times already! All we got was a blasted boilerplate response in August of last year:They added a Suikoden character to Super Bomberman R 2 in that game's December 19th update [External Link];

Quoting: MarlockYep, it was all tongue-in-cheekI must confess, I wasn't 100% sure because the bit about the yes-men was actually pretty true-to-life! As an ex-fan, I've seen first-hand the crazy lengths they'll go to in order to try to justify poor decisions from the company, and you got their mannerisms spot-on. :tongue:

From what I remember, even the hub-cities in the Splatoon games just pulled names and outfits from a pool of users who are online when you log on and then just put them in random poses in your personal temporary local instance of the area. The maximum interaction you have with them is to view a message or such (if that), so long as displaying them hasn't been disabled by the user or parental controls.

Quoting: Marlockimho relentless virtual protests in nintendo's virtual world squares (now that all games are MMOs) would be cheaperGuessing this might be a bit tongue-in-cheek, since none of Nintendo's games have live virtual squares and they don't run any MMOs? :tongue:
