If you or anyone still has this issue, it's because of the long installation folder path like using a secondary drive or perhaps the SD card on the SteamDeck. I only tried it on PC.
I had it installed on my secondary SSD and I just moved it to the default OS drive steam folder and it started working without any issue. Proton checkbox is unchecked in settings, it's using whatever proton version steam chose by itself.

Quoting: Smarty1098I'm also stuck in "unpacking game resources..."I got it working now.

I play a lot of RPG Maker MV games so that's nice to see!
Still, most RPG Maker games already run fine under regular proton/wine.
Some games however have frame drops/bad 1% lows compared to running on windows, will see if this is any better.

Quoting: Mountain ManThis was tempting until I looked at the Steam page for Street Fighter 6 and saw the game is not only infected with Deunuvo DRM, but it requires a Capcom account. Much less tempting.Same thing for the Need for Speed and Battlefield [External Link] games, they're on sale [External Link] for like 4$ now but also require EA Account...

How does the HDR option work? Is it enabled out of box or in game settings? Is it SteamOS only or any distro?

Anyone know how long does it usually take to go from beta to stable? I would like this feature but don't really want to mess with beta versions.

I actually saw the gnome extension for it before but never bothered looking into it.
I didn't expect it to make such a big difference. It seems like it works with lutris out of box as well so that will be useful.

Quoting: scaineThanks! Installed it just now, it's in the repos for ubuntu as well.Quoting: CookiesI really, really suggest you install Feral's gamemode, then just stick "gamemoderun %command%" into any titles you think are demanding enough to warrant it. It takes care of CPU freq and a lot more besides.Quoting: CookiesDid the bleeding edge patches hit regular experimental branch yet? Also an update from me, I used indicator-cpufreq to switch to performance mode since default was power savings mode on ubuntu.
I'm getting like 20-35fps on a rtx3080 @ 1440p with mid-high settings and lots of stutters/freezes.
I have seen freezes to like 1fps even when using mount but never crashed.
Nvidia drivers up to date (510.54) and using ubuntu 20.04lts.
GPU usage is low based on mangohud, like 40% and CPU is at like 10%.
I saw the post about setting shader cache to unlimited but theres no such setting on linux. I tried the dont clean shader cache flag but didn't so anything.
I think this fixed it since there was no proton updates downloaded in steam today and yesterday was still laggy AF.
Now I get full 60FPS on max settings no problem on regular proton experimental.
Mint has it pre-installed. Pop has it in the repos. Arch-based has it in AUR... I think? Might be official actually. Anyway, definitely worth doing!
