Project Vaulderie Is A Fan Made Remake Of Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines

Following this quite a time now ... great project!

@BillNyeTheBlackGuy: they won't shut it down. It's a community project not deploying any IP on their own but the project will require VTM:BL installed / bought on steam to work, which will cover the IP issue since everyone using the port will have to aquire the original game. Any lawyer would have a rough ride to bring a game "visually improved" where you bought the usage right of the original game to curt. White Wolf / CCP / Activision will see that as free cash rather than an issue to sue.

If it's steam only - I couldn't care less. Of course they need to prevent being sued and try to prevent people playing it without having the original game (and within that bought the usage right on the IP). Maybe on long-term we'll see a deal with the owner of the IP, at the moment it seems the only legit option.

I always wanted to check what's the hype for ... I don't see anything special about the game (yet), but it's got so great ratings that I'll have to buy and check it out.

Wow, even my old 555 gtx has OpenGL 4.2 ...

Metro 2033 Redux For Linux Looks Closer To Reality

I think I'd love this, but I don't think on my computer I'll be able to play it due to high graphics requirements (4 year old Alienware X51...).

Company of Heroes 2 Looks Like It Is Heading To Linux

That one I'd love. Was looking for a long time for a real time strategy game to be played on Linux.

Developers of The Vanishing of Ethan Carter Looking Into Linux
23 Aug 2014 at 12:41 am UTC

This looks great, and very promising story-whise. I'd love to see it on Linux. Though, "looking into it" is way less than confirming development, it's cool to see that dev studios start to seriously consider linux ports though.
They all work for money, if it is too risky they probably won't go for it. But it's a good sign for all of us.

The Steam Controller: Not Everyone Gets It

I personally don't think it could ever replace my mouse, especially not because I use the razer naga ;-). It's still the only gamepad which I consider could be worth buying.

Pillars Of Eternity Backer Beta Available (Sadly Not For Linux Yet)
20 Aug 2014 at 5:55 am UTC

Better late than never on Linux. Important is that they do it right, a short delay on the beta won't hurt too much. I am in the 110 tier, so I even will get an extra copy of it.

How To Build A Budget Steam Machine
17 Aug 2014 at 7:06 pm UTC

The machine isn't the issue about the thing valve is planning - I'm really more curious about the controller and what the pricing will be - and if it will be available without the machines. I really do plan to put one of them in my living room after release (and I'll probably build the machine myself because I doubt that anyone of that vendors gets the grasp of what I want :D).

A Very Important Announcement For You
17 Aug 2014 at 6:59 pm UTC

I understand that decision very well. I had to drop out of my open source development projects a few years back due to personal reasons, which left behind a whole distribution with unusable stuff. But I had to do that decision for my own sake.

Sometimes it's important to look first at your life, family and serious business for you before going back. Even though, in my case I never went back (but there is a replacement / better solution in development now after 4 years, and I know because I lately started to look and analyze this solution, maybe I go back providing patches and fixes for it).

I like the site, and I think the staff and people are great and are putting a lot of hard work into this, the articles usually well researched, and as a supporter I have no intention to drop the support for the page any time soon just over this issue (except if the site dies, ofc :D).
