Unity3D has plans to support Vulkan in the next quarter
19 May 2016 at 8:14 pm UTC Likes: 1

Untiy3D developers were at vulkan talks frequently, were even showing demos of unity3d running on Android using Vulkan, so being at the IO is no big surprise, and that they're going with the google path for Android isn't surprising either.

No mention of support for PCs though, but it's a clear goal for Android.

I don't get my hopes up, but once they have vulkan support, the way to support it on PC platform / Linux/OSX/Windows may not be that far away.

OpenRW, an open source engine for Grand Theft Auto III

I hope the studios / publishers will stop going after reimplementation of engines for playing the games in linux requireing the original copy (since we need to pay for it anyway).

Happened with the guys reimplementing vampires: bloodlines (Project Vaulderie? Seem to have forgotten..)

Looks promising though, taking a few minutes browsing the source I didn't really think they would be able to render properly yet...

AMD Polaris graphics cards are starting to sound pretty amazing

I've had my fair share of issues with my nvidia rig in the past years. Nouveau - with all the effort - is giving me hard times (crashes, random lock-ups, graphics issues - even on most recent kernels with a GTX770). NVidia has their own issues, with optimus hardware, with the wayland implementation working differently than everywhere else etc.

Since in December I'm getting myself a new gaming rig, I'll consider buying AMD this time. Though, I'm pretty sure my CPU will be intel again, but we'll see what AMD has in the stocks then.

Well, I remember what was annoying on this game again. No streamlined process, hard to start with, and a mostly french speaking community not speaking with english speakers as it seems...

Free to play MMORPG Ryzom launches on Steam with Linux support

While I enjoy Runescape, I'll give this one a shot too...

It's a week free2play for all (with all features).

Though, if you subscribe, be aware that if you drop subscription you can't play anymore. You can only play freely if you don't pay at all, once you paid you can't go back to free2play.
Quoting: BeamboomHm, judging by the comments here this really sounds like my kind of mmorpg. I just hope such an old game have been properly visually upgraded along the way.
WoW wasn't either and is still up and running :D.

Played it a bit .. it's not clumpsy, but some scenes certainly have huge dps drops on my GTX 770. Anyway, so far the game is fun, and it does not happen that often :-).

Would love if it was FarCry, but I highly doubt it.
