After being removed from Steam, Betrayer is now free on GOG

Holy shit, I'd never thought to see this game ever again. And it's free too.
Mind you, Betrayer is an indie game from 2014 so it is rough around the edges and clunky by todays standards, but due to its atmosphere and setting it is well worth a try.

PRO TIP:
Spoiler, click me
Early in the game whenever you encounter those creepy statues that look like petrified people do yourself a favor and just smash them to bits. You will understand later why this is a very good idea.

It is nice that someone is working hard on a non-VR mod. But yeah, the movement and gunplay look just too stiff and janky.
Hopefully one day it will be almost as fluid as the VR version.

Um, no thanks. I'm not going anywhere near this game.
That wasn't a "personal recommendation" for *** you *** -- how could I recommend something when I don't even know you.

Some people won't listen to Eminem because of his controversial lyrics. And that's fine.

Other people are parts of clubs that will never watch movies like The Matrix 1 simply because they are " Rated R " -- or have other "banned movies" -- and that's fine.

Other people choose for themselves to have a ban on books in their little communities -- and that's fine.

If you want to be a puritan, just make sure you don't scoff at everyone else for being a "SiNNeR" -- even Tattoos were taboo for the longest time and the mark of a heretic -- let's not look down on others for liking "Rock Music" here.
I am no puritan and my post isn't an answer to your post. I didn't even quote you.
Where exactly in my post am I looking down on people who like this game.
I simply looked up the Store Page and made a comment about the game itself and stated purely my own opinion on it, that's all.
If you look at my comment, the words in bold are the real reason I don't like this game.
If someone else isn't bothered by this kind of content I don't care.

Gotta love that corporate doublespeak. Which new gibberish will they invent next?

Darkest Dungeon got a free total conversion with Black Reliquary

Darkest Dungeon is a game for people who can't tell the difference between challenging and frustrating.

And yes, the RNG is completely broken. I once had a run where I lost all party members expect one.
I kept on going and she somehow survived almost ten encounters before finally biting the dust (the healing ability helped a little bit). And the refusal of the devs to make an actual easy mode doesn't make things any better.

It is truly a shame, because the look and feel of the game are awesome.

This game looks awesome (in a grotesque, messed up way). Really a shame that it's a KS game, I really hope they reach their goal and actually deliver it according to plan. However when I look at their goal it doesn't seem like something that will keep them financially afloat until the planned release period (late 2025.)

I think the biggest problem with their KS is that they have no demo and a lack of footage with more action in it.
