DayZ is not currently coming to Linux, but the developers are open to it

Well, if I understand it well, Bohemia Interactive is trying to unify its engines, so porting Dayz to Linux could have huge impact on other games like Arma 3, Take on Mars etc (and of course future games like native? Arma 4).

Quoting: BrisseHas the flickering foliage LOD transition texture issue thingy been fixed yet?
It's a Mesa driver issue, unfortunately still present with Mesa 18. We have reported it.
Its been in Mesa for long time, I am curious what is blocker for this bug to be fixed

Quoting: riusmaDoes the game have a "solo campaign" that make it worth its price? Would love to give it a try in multi but I'm afraid I will never have the time at the right moment for that... :(
Arma serie is known for its great community. If the campaign is not enough for you, you can try almost unlimited amount of user made modifications, missions, campaigns etc. You can also try multiplayer, since Windows and Linux clients are in sync again, you will always find a lot of servers with many players online.

Check www.armaholic.com, official forums or Steam workshop.

Quoting: Lord_PhoenixSince linux version is *mostly* behind of windows version it would be great to see a dedicated linux server maybe? Provided we there are enough of interested people :) Since last big update when they've switched to 64-bit client I enjoy Arma 3 so much, it's a great game all shortcomings considered.
It already exists:

When Windows and Linux versions were out of sync, on this server were max 10 players at the same time if I remember well. Not sure how it is going now.

So, no time to celebrate at the moment. I don't understand, why things that work in staging 2.21 do not work with newest vanilla version. The patches in staging should be integrated in vanilla meantime.

This was the last plain version i tested. Wait for next staging.
Some of staging patches will not be integrated into vanilla, ever. Because some patches are just hacks, workarounds, and there is no place for such a patches in vanilla Wine. I saw some discussion about creating another Wine branch just for these dirty hacks wich can not be merged - so people would not complain about some cases where some game is working in staging for years and not for vanilla yet. But it will probably never happen.

I personally know two games (and their bugs) which are working in staging but not in testing. These patches are not, fortunatelly, some dirty hacks, so they could be integrated into testing in the future.

Quoting: MohandevirWould have been happy to buy Legend of Grimrock II if it came out on Linux... If I remember right it was because of too few resources available. They have a mac build though... Someone to help porting it? Snif!

Edit: Typo.
I was waiting for Linux release for about 4 years, but then I bought in on GoG - it runs awesome in Wine, I almost finished it.

Quoting: liamdaweSome places end up talking about the numbers as if they're some kind of absolute, to show Linux use falling. An example of this is PC World [External Link], I spoke to the editor of that article telling them to look a bit deeper, so they did [External Link].
Good work with pcworld, unfortunately there are a lot other gaming servers which are interpreting it in wrong way. Shame on them
