I've been idly thinking of buying a used Lenovo Legion Go as well as I really admire the removable joycons. I would also load Bazzite onto it. What's your impression Liam? I'd like to hear about it, but it might also make a compelling YouTube video!

Yep this was a shareware title I played many happy hours of as a wee kid in the golden 90s.

Black Mesa is for fans who have already experienced the games for what they are.Yes and no. I agree Black Mesa is definitely for fans of the series and IMO the superior way to play the OG campaign. I'd argue if someone had a mild interest in playing HL1 (they want to experience the story because they've always heard so much about it or they're new to gaming), advise they play Black Mesa. If they're the type of gamer who enjoys or tolerates older games, play HL1.

I make frequent use of AFMF on Windows to play FF7 Rebirth at 4K 120fps. It looks fantastic and I rarely ever see any ghosting blurs. It simply defaults to on at the driver level, and ar first I was disabling it because who needs it, but if my games are already getting 90fps+ (and they are), then why not take the extra fps offered if I can't even see the potential artifacts introduced by it?
It is a shame my 7900GRE won't benefit from Redstone but I've heard our 7900 line doesn't have the correct cores to process these new features. It's a bit like gtx1080 to rtx2080, the GTX line simply lacks the hardware feature set to support DLSS.
Is AFMF present on the Linux side?
Tangential: I wish Valve would just buy out Lossless Scaling and then bake it into Steam Deck as an easy add-on like they do with FSR1.

How do you like your Framework 12? And it's been a good experience using Linux and bazzite?

I still wish Valve would adapt the Deck technology to a laptop form-factor. A 14" or 15" screen would be great. Economically priced like the Deck, of course. And I wish Valve would release a circular trackpad-only (no joystick) variant of the Steam Deck OLED with same pricing.

Soldat brings back memories of LAN parties in the early 2000s. I was there, Gandalf. I was there three thousand years ago.

At risk of exaggeration, the "tyranny of controller design" locks out hands together and our shoulders and arms in a certain position. Split joycons like these permit you to adopt any comfortable position you like. No shoulder or elbow strain!
I'm a little unclear what you're supposed to do with the controller bits once you pull them off. Do you stick them together? That would be weirdly narrow. Do you just use them as separate bits, one in each hand?Yes, one in each hand, rest your hands wherever: on your lap, on the back of the couch, to either side of your body, on top of your head. It's very comfortable and freeing and makes gyro mouse very simple.

Hey it has a nice trackpad! The pricing sucks. Nobody wants handhelds to go the way of cellphones towards the $2100 flagship prices. The attraction of these from the get-go was being less than half the price of a gaming laptop with better ergonomics.

Selaco = Duke Nukem? I haven't heard that one. It's just a boomer shooter created in the Doom engine.
Ion Fury may be the nearest Duke 3D.
What a wasted IP, we should have a Duke 2016 by now and instead he's just languishing in Forgotten IP Hell.
