Quoting: MarlockPipewire's drop-in replacements for PulseAudio and etc could already be deployed in Linux Mint by savvy users with enough free time on their hands, but yeah, this does make things waaaaay easier!I could probably do this, but I am lazy.

This is really nice to hear. While I was distrohopping last year, the only thing that got me off Mint was its lack of PipeWire. I had some audio issues running Mint and had to hop off.
Oh Snap! Canonical now doing manual reviews for new packages due to scam apps

I'm glad they're finally doing this, but this should've been implemented, at the very least, after the first time this happened.

They're just regular hand-me-down monitors. One from 2014, the other from 2006.

Quoting: GuestWhat is the refresh rate on your monitor? The main one is 60hz, and the second one is 75hz (which I limited to 60hz to make sure I don't have display issues).

This is excellent news, the flickering is one of two major annoyances left for me. (The other is electron apps randomly going blank.)
I tried Wayland again with a temporary KDE Neon install, but that flickering problem was obnoxious. If that gets fixed, I'm definitely jumping ship for good.

Nintendo Switch emulator suyu continues on from yuzu - first release is up

Haven't used a DS emulator in a while, I primarily use my homebrewed 3DS for that.

Quoting: PenglingI also have no idea if that line of emulators is still maintained.According to Spanish Wikipedia, the last update was March 23rd, 2021. A little under 3 years ago.

There was also no$gba, officially pronounced "No-Cash GBA". This was one I used to use years ago, because DeSmuME ran like molasses on my old grey Dell running XP (and I was a kid with no real knowledge on troubleshooting that issue).
It started off as a GBA emulator, hence the name, but it later on added DS support, but kept the name.
No idea if that emulator is still being maintained.

Quoting: PenglingIt's like with the Nintendo DS emulator, DeSmuME. People always mistakenly read it like "Des-moom", but it's clearly meant to be "DS Emu Me".If I had a nickel for every DS emulator with a confusing name (that I am aware of), I'd have two nickels.

Valve COO on Epic's Tim Sweeney "you mad bro?" when launching the Epic Store

Here, have a multi-paragraph ramble about Epic.
I have trouble believing Epic and Tim Sweeney give even one iota of a shit about the little guy, given his track record supporting non-Windows PC gaming. Epic took their game off macOS, a platform where you aren't limited by the App Store like iOS is, for petty reasons. Now, all macOS users that used to be able to play Fortnite just fine can only play a neutered version from three and a half years ago. They told a chunk of their audience, people who might have sunk money into Fortnite back in the day, to piss off.
I think the only reason they talk about lower cuts is because Fortnite made a boatload of money, but Timmy wants more. If Fortnite didn't explode in popularity, Epic wouldn't care. Epic's self-proclaimed "champion of the little guy" title is laughable.
And another thing, pretty much everyone who plays games on PC, myself included, hate using Epic's store, because EGS is just a straight-up horrible service. I have to go play some game, and it's on a completely different and much worse service all my other games are on. The interface is so sluggish, it makes the Wii U on launch day blush (and at least the Wii U had an excuse). The only user feedback you can give is a random question about Fortnite every now and then.
I pretty much only use EGS when I need to, and to freeload and promptly forget about whatever game they're giving away.
It kind of reminds me of Origin back in the day, an annoying, unneccesary service I only used to grab its free games.
All that being said though, I'm not really that big of a fan of Steam, but it typically does things right and that's where I'll buy most games. I'll buy games from other storefronts, like Itch and GOG, but I make a point to never purchase a game through Epic. I would rather just wait for it to come out on a platform I actually want to use.
If Steam did reduce their cuts across the board, it'd be nice. Epic doesn't genuinely care about that from what I see of them, though.

You know, out of all game studios, Microsoft was probably the one I would least expect to be on-board with getting their games to work on Linux and Steam Deck, considering they pretty much have a monopoly on PC gaming's software side of things, but it's a pleasant surprise that their games work well.
Back in the pre-steam deck days, I did not expect proton support to come to Halo: MCC at all, but nowadays it works fine.
Good for them, nice that they're helping me not use their operating system that I absolutely detest with every fibre of my being.

System76 refresh the Adder WS laptop, plus COSMIC desktop Alpha in May

I'm really excited to see what happens with COSMIC. The way Pop!_OS configures GNOME is really nice and makes it usable, but I swapped to using a distro with KDE as even with Sys76's much-needed improvements, GNOME still isn't for me.
If COSMIC can make an experience like Pop!_OS, just with more customization options, that would be a great desktop for me.
