Quoting: omer666For a company that started as a mac-exclusive, it is pretty goofy to be so hostile.
It's not especially hostile. The point is in order to make it work right now, you would have to defeat anti-cheat. Obviously they can't say that's OK.

While I am disappointed that they are not putting in the very little effort it would take to make the game playable on Linux, it's just business.
When it's just an email away I tend to think of it as such. They could just send the email and tell Linux gamers "Whatever, it's not supported but you're free to try it."
It also supports the idea that we are Schrödinger's gamers, we're not enough for devs to be interested in supporting us but if they enable the anticheat, we'll be millions overnight.
But it's not just an email away. Just getting anti-cheat enabled for the game on Linux may be just an email away, but making sure it works and supporting it require more resources than that. And I hope we are not naive enough to think that a live service game that sells content at premium prices can get away with saying, "We can't support the way you run the game, but you're welcome to try."

I want to reiterate that I am sorely disappointed by the decision. It won't make me not buy the Deck, and it might not even make me not buy more Destiny stuff going forward, but I sure would like to be able to play Destiny on the Deck.
I am not naive, that's basically what id software did with its Linux ports, and that's how Proton works too. Nobody is asking them to "support" Linux, just not to prevent it from working.

Dear Gaben,

An HL game we've been promised,
Cliffhangered in episode 2 and ever since
We've been waiting patiently for this
Release third episode, for we are those
Who'll spend any kind of money on an HL game,
Even when we don't have any.

Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem is out, run it on Linux with one small change

I got pretty incensed about Serious Sam 4 not coming to Linux despite their early claims.

To be honest I may buy it someday but if I have to consider Proton games there are much better FPS I should buy before even considering eyeing this one.

Microsoft to acquire Activision Blizzard

Recent history showed people want to use Steam as they consider it the superior storefront.
Would Microsoft force their own store upon gamers, it would reinforce Valve's commitment in Linux even further.
As for UWP, even Windows gamers don't want it.
That's just my view on the subject though, only time will tell.

Microsoft to acquire Activision Blizzard

This is a first in Microsoft history:

- Usually, they buy a successful studio at its highest, then they mess it all with their poor management until the creative leadership of the company resigns. Examples: Lionhead, Rare, Bungie...

- Now, they prefer to buy companies after they've already lost all their creativity. Can't be that much worse if it's already terrible, right?

Microsoft, thank you so much for being yourself. If one ever tried to parody you, they wouldn't even be able to pull it in such a blatantly clichéd manner (they would lack the money anyway...)

Now XBox players will get to see Doom 6 and Diablo 4 released with even worse technical problems than their predecessors!

I don't mind having to pass on that one.

GNOME Shell 42 to have better mouse input that will help gaming

Quoting: elmapulanother fix for a bug we didnt knew existed but was a huge deal...
Wayland's input handling on GNOME is still a work in progress. Not so long ago you couldn't play an FPS on XWayland because mouse pointer couldn't snap to window properly. On the bright side, things are accelerating and taking a great turn of event.
