Just remember their Linux support for the 1st KF... Pretty miserable. I'm not buying a single TripWire game any time soon.

I am alone having issues with quitting the game? It prevents me from closing Steam or launching the game again, it's pretty annoying...

The game refuses to quit on my rig, don't know why. I can't kill the process either, and I am forced to kill X.

When I think about it, I only have put something like 1 hour or so in Garry's Mod since I bought it 2 years ago. If I could do it again I'd have never bought it.
About Rust... Well I don't buy games on indefinite early access. I don't buy MMO either. And finally the concept's execution and the community are so silly altogether that I just can't get interested in this in the slightest.
When survival means running naked avoiding snipers...
As a comparison, I'd be much more interested in trying out Ark...

As a side note though, a single guy handling the Linux port is still a reality for many games out there...
Though, id ports were really great as far as I can remember them.

Quoting: TheBossYes indeed, it was TTimo doing the ports. He left not that long after id abandoned us.Quoting: omer666Hardly. The Linux "ports" from id were done by one guy, and from what I remember he doesn't work there any more.Quoting: KimyrielleGlad to see their order books still being full. I just wish Bethesda would finally notice these guys and let them port something. Anything. This is never going to happen. Zenimax, their current owner, is so much against Linux they actually managed to stop id software from doing Linux ports!

At the time, many Linux gamers were eagerly looking forward to playing Rage as they were damn sure it would come to their OS. That was a real disappointment.

At last! Now we just need a Shogun entry.
As for the GeForce 600 requirement, I agree it's quite unpleasing. Even if my GPU is a 660, I don't think this is safe politics. On another hand, it may be related to OpenGL specific requirements for that port (needing some extensions, etc.)
It's been also announced some time ago that the minimum requirement for Vulkan was GeForce 600 series and up, but that full functionality requires GeForce 900. Shifting the minimum requirements to 600+ Gfx may be linked to a future Vulkan adoption (yeah that's unrealistic but who knows :p)

I don't think Uber still deserves all this hate.
First, I think this is a very honest writing, and yes, people have difficulties understanding the video game development process, nevertheless.
I do get some bugs, like disappearing UI, which, in my opinion, prevent the game from being a strong competitive RTS. So to a certain extent, the game's primary goal was not completely reached. Creating too much units that aren't different enough didn't help either.
On another hand, the game is genuinely fun to play. It's got this old school feeling and the innovative gameplay. As of Titans, the gameplay really works and is polished enough.
Now what we need is a rewriting of the UI, which I think won't happen anytime soon, some definitive unit re-balancing, mod support, and more ways to travel through space, including precarious ones. It would bring some more dynamics, the feeling of taking risks being one of those things that really hooks players when it comes to competitive RTS.
