Am I understanding things correct. NVidia is making bad opengl code preform better on they're cards buy violating opengl specification? So if programmers would know better opengl and programmed as it should be done code would work as fast as it needs on any drivers? So in the end it is people knowledge witch is lacking and NVidia is just patching it up.

Quoting: subAnd what did you expect develop on AMD and the see that performance on NVidia where your most of the profit will come from is sub par. I don't think so. Of course you develop on card which will give you most profit and then test on secondary cards which would be nice to work but not mandatory.A developer: I took the liberty of replacing the Nvidia 660GTX in my Linux machine for our Radeon 270X and ran some tests.Doesn't this statement, again, shows that many developers develop on Nvidia first, then try with an AMD card and are disappointed - or even blame AMD for bad performance?

Quoting: XenonI built my gaming computer using Athlon64 processor I and it was my worst decision ever and at that time I was using windows only and thought that only hipsters and geeks are using Linux. It always hang and overheated and I even did not over-clock it. I gave it to my mother some time ago (with Linux installed) and it started to overheat so much that it started to turn off. My mother was unhappy with that. So I throw out AMD motherbord and put Intel i3 processor with inlet motherboard. Best decision ever my mother now is happy with her computer.Quoting: mr-egg[...]They haven’t made a good CPU line since the Phenom II, when was that ? 2008 - 2009 [...]Are the AMD CPUs really that bad? I use AMD since the Athlon64 series and atm an FX-8150 and can't complain but tbh never benchmarked against a Intel with the same price-tag.

Don't Count On Any EA Frostbite Powered Games On Linux

Quoting: BdMdesigNEven if that number is a lie there is no other reliable survey to check. So to all world Linux games are less than 1% and even this number is false and we are two times more still Linux games do not generate a lot of profit for companies who actually port fames. I do not think EA will ever support Linux it could support SteamOS (if many people would bought it) but as support goes never Linux as whole.Quoting: TheRiddick...As you still get to the 1%?
Yes EA may not care atm, but within a year that %1 is likely to grow, hopefully larger then Mac.
I and others have written often enough, that's are the 1% a fairy tale number is.
Even if you repeat the 1% here, a scattered lie is not true.

Quoting: maodzedunVulcan will not be a panacea for sloppy code or bad drivers. An API does not fix the bad performance of an engine, the low performance drivers or the lack of optimization.Only thing which Vulcan must do is that games preform same on all platforms. If it is preforming bad on Windows it mus preform bad on Linux if developer fixed performance issues on Windows it should be fixed on Linux so that you do not need to optimize all platforms separately but if you optimize one platform all platforms benefit from that and that is all. If Vulcan manages to do that than most problems will be solved.

Quoting: GuestEven then you can't call feral the worst porter ever. There are much worse porter companies to get this title.Quoting: TealThere aren't many Feral ports for Linux yet really, so it's too early to tell how good/bad they are. I think XCOM was ok, but Shadow of Mordor wasn't exactly the greatest.Quoting: AkamanahI haven't seen any but great ports from Feral, mind elaborating on what makes you say that?Quoting: wojtek88Cool, yet another game from good porting company.Lol, nope. This is the worst porter ever.
So we'll see where this one goes. I've been interested in this game for a while, and might pick it up on the next round of sales now (assuming the next round of sales are after 27th of August, of course).
