Divinity: The Original Sin Enhanced Edition Announced, No Linux Release Date

I think the communication could have been better for sure. There are plenty of examples of bad communication. Just see what kind of drama is going around The Witcher 3 at the moment. Things could have been much easier for CDPR with good communication.
Unfortunately Linux is still quite far from being one of most important platforms. Oculus Rift, D: OS, Trine 3, etc. waiting, waiting and more waiting.

Quoting: XzylYou can think people are acting entitled, or like children all you want, you perfect people. I for one know people will get upset and sometimes these companies really need to hear it. Larian's lack of communication about the state of this port was really deplorable.Maybe I'm just too used how people behave in work life - people discuss about the problems and get them solved. Sure, Internet works differently, I just forget it time to time :)

Quoting: Xzylafterthought: many people complained about the mods for money thing on valve, which this site even called childish complaining, and look at the result that came from it good or bad, the complainers got their way. What could Larian do / could have done differently? If they never had a version that works on Linux how could they release it. They have been working Linux version for a sometime already and going to deliver it along with the other platform once Enhanced version is ready. I just don't see how bashing them solve any problems or make the release happen any earlier.

As long as they are going to deliver D: OS for Linux they are all fine and kept their promise. It is nasty to wait but unfortunately that's something Linux gamers has to get used to.

Quoting: ShmerlYeah, it's really great for companies like Larian if people are more positive. It's normal to be disappointed but acting like children doesn't do any good.
Makes getting away with cheating way easier.
Also, probably you're confusing "hate" and "bashing" with being upset.

It has been sad to see all the hate and bashing here in GOL and linux_gaming reddit. Fortunately Linux players' tone in Larian forums has been much more positive.

Quoting: ShmerlA big post which sheds more light on what caused the delay: http://www.lar.net/2015/05/15/enhanced-edition/ [External Link]Thanks for sharing the link.

Frozenbyte Confirm The Trine 3 Linux Release Is Due After The Final Windows Release

As long as Linux stays a tiny player in gaming business there will be late releases and more or less bad ports. I hope SteamOS and Vulkan will change the situation drastically but even then it will most likely take some time.

Quoting: AndyMcDandyCDNThat is sad news for it will mean once again possible Linux sales being counted as Windows sales because of any Linux gamer who can not wait until the Linux port is released. The Witcher 3 will be another game that causes a bit trouble. It is currently in discount and it has some pre-order extra for those who are interested. It is still unknown when the Linux version is coming and what kind of version it will be.

Quoting: ShmerlAnd it was a crowdfunded project which couldn't have been made without actual support from backers ;)As long time gamers do care about these games they will back them in Kickstarter and we will continue getting them - as you well said on the other thread recently. Unfortunately "caring" about them but not backing them in Kickstarter is not enough.
Quoting: ShmerlinXile plan to launch a new campaign soon by the way: http://bardstale.inxile-entertainment.com [External Link]They will support who cares about the game - at least I will and I hope that many other Linux gamers will too.
So support them when they start and don't say there is no point in doing it.

Unless you don't have a confirmation that the person is from Larian I think it is just wrong to claim so.
What comes to Kickstarter - thanks to all Kickstarter backers who made Divinity: Original Sin and Wasteland 2 possible.

Without Kickstarter (or Early Access) we wouldn't get all these incredible games coming for PC and Linux.

Quoting: liamdaweSorry but the message was sent just by some unknown user in reddit. The messages didn't have any information that couldn't have been written by someone who has been following the discussion.Quoting: edqeGiven the insight this person had, the answer is obvious. Then they were deleted...we are confident it was Larian.Quoting: liamdaweUpdated the article again, and the Larian person has now deleted their comments. How do you know the person is working for Larian?
Edit: Added in shots. Not very impressed at this.
It would be better be sure about the facts before making false accusations and blaming them for nothing. It would be great if GamingOnLinux would be quality over quantity.

I'm more than fine that they are working on new games already. They have to keep the company up and running to survive. I guess it is quite clear that only porting D: OS for Linux wouldn't bring enough money.

Quoting: liamdaweI won't defend a developer who promises, promises, promises and....nothing happens. We don't know details. All we can do is trust that they are doing progress. The issues must be huge since they have still not released the game. Of course every game company would release the game if it would be possible.
Quoting: liamdaweI think it's really bad to keep people waiting who funded them. You make it sound like they do it for fun. But what if the game for example segfaults on launch, what can they do? Release it?
