Planetary Annihilation: TITANS, A Standalone Expansion For Planetary Annihilation

PCGamer: Planetary Annihilation: Titans resurrects a flawed RTS, and it's out today [External Link]

I have started to hope that those people who can't handle announcements like this shouldn't support Kickstarter or Early Access games. It is sad when game's forum get filled of whining and insults instead of constructive feedback - unfortunately it happens very often with EA games.

Ideas doesn't look bad and OP as still quite mild tone - makes it more constructive feedback.

I think the problem is that we know nothing what is going inside the company and what all ideas they have went trough. Maybe they have had reason not to implement things as you suggested for a very good reasons.

The same whining starts everytime among some players when they don't get expansions or DLCs for free. For some reason many KS and EA supporters still doesn't seem to understand the risks - sometimes projects doesn't meet all the original plans.

Developers has to pay bills too and running a company is not cheap, so Uber needs to make money to be able continue. There has been many stories about gaming companies recently that has went bankrupt or struggling badly - Larian, Obsidian, Maxis, Vigil, THQ, etc.

I'm more than happy to support companies like Uber. It is great to have RTS games for PC and can't wait to get more of them from Uber in future

Founder Of Larian Studios Teases Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition For Linux

I hope the D: OS 2 is not done consoles in mind like 99% AAA games these days. If it doesn't and it will be released for Linux I will support the project immediately since it is easily one of the best CRPG games released for a long time.

It is better get used to wait in Linux gaming world. We have lots of promises pending including SteamOS and Steam Machines themselves.

ARK: Survival Evolved Released For Linux, Here's An Early Look & Thoughts
2 Jul 2015 at 1:16 pm UTC

Well, this could be the game I'm going to support this month. Looks fine and great to see "big" titles coming for Linux.

Edit: Just started to support the project and I'm surprised how well the game runs already (GTX 750 Ti, i7 3770K)
Quoting: BeamboomIt's not released at all yet. It's Early Access. That means people pay to be beta testers. An idiotic concept I wish no one supported.
D: OS, Arma 3, Star Citizen, Kerbal Space Program, Prison Architect, Wasteland 2, Torment: Tides of Numenera, etc. For many developers Kickstarter and Early Access are the only way to make the game possible. PC gaming got much better because of Kickstarter and Early Access.

I like the concept and I hope lots of gamers supports Kickstarter/Early Access games they find interesting.

The Steam Hardware Survey For May Is Here, It’s Not All Doom & Gloom

Quoting: maodzedunIt's only logical. There are too few AAA releases, even fewer first day releases and virtually no stable such. The Linux triple A game market consists of 3-4 aging game ports (quite buggy upon release) and a lot of vague promises.
SteamOS would definitely require games like just announced Fallout 4. It will take long time to get gamers interested about SteamOS.

Divinity: The Original Sin Enhanced Edition Announced, No Linux Release Date

Quoting: berillionsWhere is the problem for you ?
Divinity: The Original Sin will not be available on Linux but Divinity: The Original Sin Enhanced Edition yes ... If you can't wait the new version, it's not my problem.
And how long have we waited already to find out the original is not coming, but the newer one is? You can then argue we are getting a fuller game, but how long do we have to wait, again? What if it never comes?
This is how crowfunded projects are. It's unfortunate but there is always a risk you don't get the end product. If the projects is not ready (maybe doesn't even boot?) I don't see how they could release it.

In the other hand we don't have SteamOS, Shadow of Mordor, Projects Cars, The Witcher 3, etc. lots of other games yet. What if they never comes? We have only promises. This is how Linux gaming is still today.

Divinity: The Original Sin Enhanced Edition Announced, No Linux Release Date
17 May 2015 at 4:20 am UTC

Quoting: ricki42That doesn't really apply to this situation though. Larian accepted money from people because they promised a Linux version, which, as of now, they haven't delivered. There is nothing the people who gave money can do, they can't discuss the problem with Larian to solve it, because in the end, Larian decide on their priorities and do what they think is best. Complaining is pretty much the only thing people can do (other than just not saying anything and accepting things as they are), and Larian can then decide whether they want to reply or not.
Yeah, unfortunately complaining is pretty much all people can do when things doesn't go as planned with crowdfunding projects but backers should also accept the fact that there is always a risk they don't get the final product. In the cases where the project is struggling with the technical problems I just don't think bashing and complaining helps at all. Adding more fuel to flames by quoting some random reddit user as a Larian employee doesn't help either.

As their latest blog post [External Link] and earlier news [External Link] says they had rough times going on as a company and I personally don't be surprised that Linux suffered more than other platforms. I hope this will change once SteamOS is finally being published.

I would like to see other companies take a look how Cloud Imperium Games handles communication about Star Citizen. It is pretty impressive.
