'Osiris: New Dawn', a graphically impressive multiplayer adventure and survival game coming to Linux
29 Sep 2016 at 12:47 pm UTC

...when we launch on Early Access.
Nah, I'll pass for now then. Looks great though, I'd get it if/when it's complete and if it works well as a standalone singleplayer experience.

I liked the ending.

A Linux release for Kingdom Come: Deliverance still looks very unclear

I consider this to be completely unacceptable. If you promise a platform, you should deliver it (no pun intended). One thing is developers going back on a port (like The Witcher 3) another thing is taking money from people under a false pretence - that should be illegal but somehow the "Kickstarter is an investment and investments are risky" logic prevails.

If you promised all platforms then ensure you can go through with it. This means PLANNING a multi-platform game, not using middle ware which you know is incompatible with the platforms you TOOK MONEY FOR, etc.

EDIT: Actually, TW3 was a bad example since people may have pre-ordered it expecting Linux. My bad, that's just as disgusting and irresponsible.

The Witcher 3 was apparently never planned for Linux

This is the main reason I never bothered playing The Witcher 2. For starters, the story makes little sense without the first game, and I like story so would want to play that first, but it's not available. Then if I end up really liking the game and want more, I wouldn't want to be in a situation where there's a sequel I can't even play.

With the whole situation though, I wouldn't discount the idea of Valve getting a bit trigger-happy and announcing something that wasn't confirmed fully. Maybe there was a conversation between someone at Valve and at CD Projekt where they said they'd consider a port and Valve added it as confirmed to make the release lineup for Steam Machines look better.

I feel bad for anyone who bought this on sale as a pre-order to play on Linux.

Sunless Sea expansion Zubmariner releases on October 11th with Linux support

I really liked this game, goes under the "simple but addictive" category, like FTL, Darkest Dungeon and the like. I'll probably pick up the expansion since it's a good excuse to play it again.

Quoting: GuestI would just like to point out that Gabe was the one who turned Windows into a gaming platform too. He himself coded part of Windows and pushed it into gaming.
He has been a very important person within the whole industry from the very start, not just for Linux!
Yeah, good point! But now he wants to undo it, and there's no better man for the job.

Worms W.M.D is out day-1 on Linux, here's some early thoughts
23 Aug 2016 at 5:35 pm UTC

Team17 doesn't have the best record for Linux support. Worms Reloaded had no cross-platform multiplayer, Clan Wars had controller support on Linux despite it clearly stating that the game had controller support, making local multiplayer with friends impossible.

I've been a fan of the series since the late 90s, but I'm going to wait and see if issues are resolved then pick it up if they are because I do really love Worms.

I would come up with something witty, but my voice is a little hoarse right now.

That's snow horse, it's a man wearing a horse mask.
