Deponia: The Complete Journey Released For Linux

Quoting: SpeedsterAssuming this review [External Link] is not just a figment of the author's imagination, it's a good thing I didn't rush out and buy this for my Monkey-island-loving family, they would hate the story just like the reviewer...
I think he missed the point completely with this review. Yes, the actions of the protagonist are often immoral, but he's presented as an immoral egomaniac with no regard for others so it's not like the game is actively supporting that behavior but instead condemning it as the actions of a narcissist. Part of the humor of the game is that making the player judge the actions of the protagonist, making the player think "oh god, do I really have to do that?" or "is he going to do what I think he's going to do". The accusations of misogyny are pretty ludicrous too given that the male protagonist is portrayed as a (misogynistic) moron and the female characters are mostly strong and intelligent. That said, the game is definitely targeted at more mature audiences, not family friendly (maybe more suited to the age group that grew up with monkey Island).

So I would say it is a figment of his imagination. That and he has no sense of humor. Metacritic [External Link] pretty much says the exact opposite.

the game is 90% off on Steam until September if you own them already
It's a staggered discount, even: 30 percentage points per part you own.
Yeah, that was an error on my part. In the original it didn't even mention that the discount was for those who owned it, but guess Liam corrected that.

Quoting: Beamboom"Linux users typically shy away from any form of DRM, so you can bet there is a large bunch of Linux users who just simply refuse to use Steam."
I don't see how this is of any relevance to anything since the topic here is Linux share of Steam users.
To put it this way; There's plenty of Windows users out there who don't use Steam too - but that's just as irrelevant.
Well, a GOL survey would let us find out if that's the case since it would survey all GOL users, not just Steam users :)

Does anyone know a hack to make this into a screensaver? Would be kind of like having digital sea monkeys.

Could we not do a poll on GOL? I'm quite curious to have an idea of how many Linux users still dual boot or use Wine. Have not seen any stats out there showing that kind of thing, so would be cool to do a monthly GOL survey at the same time as the Steam one to get details like these and how they're changing over time (like how many people switched from dual booting to Linux only after XCOM and Civ 5). If anyone knows how to fix up a simple questionnaire and Liam is ok with it being on GOL, I would be happy to help.

On another note, I have a feeling that dual booters bring down the stats more than distro hoppers. And I still have no idea what using Wine is counted as.

Any chance of a Europa Universalis multilayer?

I was thinking that this must be one of the hardest games to bug test, considering he has to distinguish between the "real" bugs and the ones which have been intentionally left in the game.
