Hmm, Nintendo being Nintendo again. Somehow nobody that I know IRL can understand why I will not purchase any products from them.

Life by You the Sims-like from Paradox delayed until June

Disappointing that it's been delayed again, but hopefully the extra time in the oven will result in a less buggy launch. My expectation is that I'll probably like parts of it better than the Sims, but I'll end up wishing for a combination of them both! It's going to have tons of DLC though, you can almost guarantee it. I'm hoping they don't hobble the base game like EA did with the Sims 4.

AYANEO NEXT LITE no longer ships with SteamOS-like HoloISO Linux - Windows 11 instead

I wonder what would happen if they would have the option to choose your OS, and take off the price of Windows for the Linux version? I know OEMs get a major discount, but I think Lenovo does something similar.

Check out your 2023 Year In Review on Steam

I wish they would put total hours played on these instead of just percentages, but oh well!

It looks like I played 39 games total, and my top three games were:
XCOM2 - 20%
Endless Sky - 12%
Stardew Valley - 10%
I had another 5 games just below the 10% mark, so I didn't play the remaining 31 games very much!

Device split was:
Linux - 69%
Steam Deck - 31%
That's up from 22% on the Deck from last year, but I didn't get it until Q4. I was obviously using it hard the end of the year!

Squadron 42 finally 'feature complete', CIG talk up Vulkan support for Star Citizen

Quoting: Eike
Quoting: AnanaceI'd definitely suggest trying it out during one of the free fly periods they run if you're interested in space games, one will be coming up next month for their IAE event.
Does this mean Star Citizen can be tried for free sometimes?
That's correct. Usually a few times a year if I remember correctly. The free fly events tend to have more problems with server instability, but it gives you a rough idea of what to expect if you decide to purchase a starter pack.

Edit: Sorry Ananace, I hadn't reloaded the page in a bit and didn't see your reply.

Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition arrives on Steam in 'early 2024'
27 Sep 2023 at 4:34 pm UTC

This reminds me I never finished the original! I got about halfway through, then spent my time doing side quests and running around. Still a lot of fun! I'll probably get this one once I see how the port runs.

ΔV: Rings of Saturn is a game for real space nerds - out now

Quoting: ghostdogDoes it run well on Steam Deck? Or is it too complicated for a controller?
Check out the Steam Community page for it, they have a pinned topic about the Deck in the discussion section. I had read through it when I purchased my Deck, and at that point it seemed like it had fair playability. I've never personally tried it though.

AI-powered news sites are dumb and Redditors managed to trick them

It wouldn't surprise me to find out that a good many of the other tech news websites do the exact thing, but do a few searches prior to publishing. Which is why I come here to get news!

System76 tease the new Launch Heavy keyboard
25 Nov 2022 at 8:51 pm UTC

I'm probably going to have to get one of these at some point. I looked at the original Launch the last time I needed a keyboard, but I use the number pad a lot. So it was a pass for me then, but maybe not next time!

Steam Deck Q3 invites are all out early as Valve beats own production estimates (again)

Quoting: marcusWow great news!

I got my invitation for the 512GB version to Germany today at 20:42 CEST! Reserved on 2022-07-04. So this was way quicker than expected and now I'm eagerly waiting for it to arrive at my door :)
I'm getting excited now, I reserved mine 2022-08-09! So there's a chance I could be getting an invitation in the next couple of weeks. I'm really looking forward to sitting on the porch and enjoying the sunshine while playing a few games.
