Valve attempts to deal with jokes, memes and ASCII art reviews on Steam

I'm glad they're trying to do something about all of that garbage on the review page. The sad thing is that there was already a system in place to take care of it, the helpful/not helpful button, and most Steam users won't use it correctly. Hopefully the new system works a bit better!

As an American that enjoys a lot of foreign media, I find myself using defence and defense interchangeably! It's interesting to find words like that.

Anyway, Happy Birthday!

Quoting: dpanterIs that supposed to be Leonard Nimoy? Is this "AI" or a voice actor trying to impersonate him... could have used another character instead, really. Could be a fun game but that combat looked really janky.
It's a cautious perhaps from me.
It's a voice actor impersonating him. He's obviously not perfect, but there were various lines that were pretty close. I definitely felt like it could be an older Spock. I'm also not someone that thinks only one actor can play a character, so I don't have a big problem with recasting. After finishing the game I agree that they could have used another character without changing the story, but I'll admit to having a grin on my face when he and another character showed up!

It is a narrative game, so you're watching cutscenes and making choices through a lot of it. There are segments where you walk around and perform various tasks as well as some combat sections, but the combat isn't the main focus or strong point of the game. The story was pretty decent, at least with the choices I made. It felt like it could be a fair TNG episode, and that's a lot better than any other Star Trek game I've played in quite a while.

I was interested until I saw the 2k account requirement. Sorry 2k, I've already got a Steam account. I'm not creating and logging into a second account to play a game.

The Warlords series and the five original Close Combat games appear on Steam

Quoting: chaussettesI remember trying to play some close combat games semi-recently using wine and I'm not sure they work. Maybe they would with proton but otherwise my understanding is these games do not function on linux
I'm pretty sure I had Panthers in the Fog working through Proton a while back. I don't remember having to do much to make it work, but I think I was running in windowed mode so the aspect ratio wasn't stretched.

Quoting: PenglingIt looks it, and I'm really glad that they put some official photographs online!

I really wanted to do my own photos for this piece, but Amazon UK didn't have enough copies to cover their pre-orders, so I won't get mine for at least a few weeks.
I pre-ordered from Barnes & Noble, and it appears my copy has shipped already. Not sure if it would be worth getting it through them or not, I don't know how Amazon handles order cancellations.

Edit: Never mind, I just realized you said Amazon UK. I doubt B&N has any better shipping options there.

I've already got a copy on the way! That game has been such a big thing in my family that I didn't even have to think about it once pre-orders opened. Is it a little overpriced? Probably. Will it still worth it anyway? I'm almost positive it will be!

Hopefully this is where it stops and they don't go after the team members individually. They've proven in the past that they're willing to completely ruin people's lives that get in their way.
