Great news! XFCE is my favorite DE.

Talking point - what have you been playing lately?

I'm still more into OSRS
in comparison, I've got around 2500h in Path of Exile over around four years, I played 1700h in OSRS over approx one year.
But beside that: A little bit Melvor Idle, some Zachtronics Solitaire Collection, not much else.

I just checked my shelves and digged out GW1, i have that cdrom bookcase with the necromancess (is this correct english? like sorcerer and sorceress)
and there are two inlay books - manuscripts on Challenges and Lore.
Hm, I wonder if I get a free copy when I prove, i still have my GW1 hardcover with this merch inside...

As my age progresses i do not play so many games anymore - I've even stopped playing on my PS5.
I just don't bother about free games anymore.
At the moment I'm playing mostly Oldschool Runescape and if I want some variety, i check what I've installed on my too big Steam Library. I have so many unplayed or unfinished games.
But yet, here I am waiting for nostalgia games like HoMM: Olden Era, Moulder, Hark the Ghoul or Mina the hollower.
I've even installed TES2: Daggerfall not long ago.
What is wrong with me?
Why am I not excited anymore?
When did I lost my passion for gaming?
It's like the games are just an occupational therapy for filling out my empty life.
Click here, work there, a new level, a new skill, oh - shiny!
(don't worry about me, I'm already in therapy.)

My only game at the moment is Oldschool Runescape.
But I'm positively surprised, that Cookie Cutter will get a re-release on many platforms, I sure would continue playing it.

That looks entertaining! (it reminds me a bit of SimTower )

Need more metroidvania action? Stardust Demon is an overlooked gem

I do like Metroidvania, but I'm more into intermediate difficulty. Shantae, Indivisible, Cookie Cutter - that sort of games.
I loved the old DukeNukem1+2, Chupachups Zool and Cmdr Keen Games.

AMDVLK has been discontinued as AMD are throwing their "full support" behind RADV
16 Sep 2025 at 10:15 am UTC

That reminds me of something I've encountered some weeks ago.
From DexterMorgan on "Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon" entry for ProtonDB:
during Steam installation on Arch system it defaults to the amdvlk driver when asking you to select a driver, as opposed to the vulkan-radeon driver. (...) Most other distros default to the vulkan-radeon driver for their Steam packages but if you see horribly broken environment textures and everything else is fine, odds are it's amdvlk.
So one error less here!
