So here are some updates.

I was able to build a basic test version for Linux, but I wasn't able to build a full version right now due to extrem long compile times.

This is what's going on:
I'm using Unreal Engine 4 Cross Compile which allows me to build a Linux version from a Windows System. I'm using this because I have to the time for a full linux build to run right now. As soon as I have a full linux build finished, I'll upload it to Steam for public testing.

But there are some limitations due to the fact that cross compile won't work with Engine Plugins:

DLCs wont work. Even if you own Operation: Arctic Hawk, you can't play it! (DLC check is done via Plugin)
The Linux version will for now been shipped without the Editor.
Achievements won't work (It's handled by pulugins which I can't use now)

I'll keep you updated on when the build is online.

Check out the developer commentary on Observer, the new horror title published by Aspyr Media

Quoting: HollowSoldierAny news of Vulkan support? Aspyr hasn't dropped the bomb yet.
Aspyr is not developer for this game. They are a Steam publisher - Probably will not be involved in the development process.

Also about Vulkan. If game is not writing for support low-level API from scratch (DX12 or Vulkan) then using Vulkan in most cases not get any sensible improvements.

BTW. coming back to game. Worth to look: making of from observer: (non english voice but It is worth seeing the same video for several scenes) View video on youtube.com

Two Worlds II RPG delayed for Linux

Quoting: DamonLinuxPLSure, but GRACE engine from Two Worlds 2 is not a new engine - it's legacy.
The original one is, but didn't they make an enhanced edition or something? I'm sure though, they would have used 64-bit if they could do it easily.
They only add GUI for high resolution and new light system and few other minor improvements -so this is still the same engine.

Im sure, when they make Two Worlds 3 (its coming officially) they use 64bit, because they chose new engine. We don't know what engine, maybe they build new GRACE 3 or use one of UE4, Unity3D or CryENgine.

Quoting: ShmerlOnly legacy engines might be locked into 32-bit. When making new engines today, there is absolutely no reason not to make it for 64-bit.

For example Beamdog for a long time were using 32-bit engine, inheriting various bits all the way from Infinity one. Only now they finished reworking their games to be 64-bit.
Sure, but GRACE engine from Two Worlds 2 is not a new engine - it's legacy.

Quoting: lucinosI can not understand why so many developers do that elementary mistake on linux. On linux developers should only support 64bit. No one on linux is using 32 bit, really no one. If someone is using 32 bit, he is wrong and he should use 64 bit and if he really has a reason then he is no way a potential customer for any game. On linux we had the "luck" that gaming has become mainstream only recently when everyone was already 64 bit. So it should be that simple as only supporting 64 bit. Why 32 bit is coming from the land of the dead? why?
Quoting: ShmerlThey made that mistake on Windows, and at the time when 32-bit Windows XP was still quite widespread. I suppose that's the reason. So I guess they just didn't rewrite the engine to support 64-bit proper.
Guys, guys... This is old title. Main game is from 2010 and engine GRACE used in Two Worlds II by Reality Pump is even older. It not that easy to make old title compatibile with 64 bit like u think. This engine use and it from DX9 era but they add DX10 as backend so in this time almost no one made 64bit games... Even today, many of new games is only 32-bit not because devs wany to support old OSes but just because they use engines that can not work correctly or they have issues with compiling 64-bit. It not that simple, like we can think. Also look, Reality Pump used new upgrade engine to Vendetta Curse of Raven's Cry - and called it GRACE 2 - and still is only 32-bit.

It not that simple, another thing, look why many developers not switch old games to 64-bit now? Why? Look new OS version and every times Windows 8 - this game broke, another not want launch, Windows 10 comes - again, broken games everywhere. So go to 64-bit... ya, right. If this is that simple why most developers still not take it? Because it is not and can completly broke old game...

Looks like Dying Light is set to get more free DLC

Quoting: PixelPiYou wrote Dying Light is for discount on Steam. But can't buy Dying Light in Germany directly on steam.

I would buy it. But while I'm not a big fan of zombie games only for discount.

This seems to be the only legal possibility for German players:

What is the normal price on steam? Sorry, can't see it.
For now "Dying Light: The Following - Enhanced Edition" cost on Steam in Poland 19,99€. If you can't buy on Steam (unfortunately this is a known problem with lots of games in germany :/ ) you can buy it directly on developer/publisher Techland store, they have box version (box + steam key) and digital (only steam key) both cost 119,90 zł (about 28 euro).
