Day of Infamy is based on the same source engine like Insurgency?
Edit: Ahh I see, the same engine. So should work fine even on my AMD machine :)

Other porters like Icculus or other one person porters make ports for "asking" company. For example, Runic Games (developer and publisher) asking ported Edward Rudd if he could port Torchlight 1/2 to Linux for some money. He agree. He porting and gives Runic games his port, and Runic take him some money and Runic publish this port.
I think in this case, probably Virtual Programmin do the same as single porter. If I good remember, VP guys once time spoke about it, he mentioned that most of VP ports is made to order.

Quoting: X6205Uhm... so unknown game i have never heard off gets a linux release. But users bitching abou Witcher 1 for linux are ignored. Even if VP alredy have Witcher1 eOn port on Mac.. Maybe if they would cooperate with CDR and include also community mods like Rise of the White Wolf or HD texturen mod, it would sell 10 times more than some unknown Overlord 1+2.. but okay. Let´s not be greatefull..Sometimes ago, I asked on vp github bugreport topic about possible porting The Witcher 1 (original - "Wiedźmin") to Linux. One from VP reply to me some like this "if you want witcher 1, please ask CDPRed". So they can't to much in this question I think even if they working on Witcher 1 for mac (first mac version is made in WINE after that they swith it and now use eON for TW1 for Mac).
Quoting: dmantioneSteam info is likely not wrong, but unable to inform you about all details of a porting contract. Feral acting as a publisher doesn't automatically mean they have the decision powers.Yep. Many aspyr and feral ports are made with self publishing. So they buy rights to develop linux and mac ports and next they self poblishing it and gets all linux/mac sale for self (or only part for it, depends on agreement).

Not my video, but it shows what it should be show.
Results may vary depending on the system, model gpu, drivers, graphical environment or the settings of the game.

Now this game working almost with the same performance as on Windows.I can not confirm this. I installed it on Windows and Linux, and the Windows version is performing a lot better for me (GTX 760, i7-2600, 3.4ghz). This PC was originally bought when TW2 was released to be able to play it (no joke :D). Upgraded the graphics card since back then (550 to 760).
But true is, it is a lot better and definitely playable now. 2nd patch was the hit for me to call it "playable".

Quoting: darkszlufYep, now I use open source driver but look like games working smillar to fglrx. In main case still I prefer VP games. So? Look at at this. For me working very good, almost all. Feral games? Only few working fine, other? Not working, working poorly, with bad performance, not support AMD GPU or not support crossplatform multiplayer? Now tell me who make better ports?the problem is that most of us AMD users actually use mesa which is a lot better for most other games(including feral ports) besides VP ports.

From what I feel, VP make better ports than Feral. Both make non-native port (yes even Feral use wrapped) and both use smillar technology. Read about this.
I playing in few titles from VP.
- The Witcher 2 - after release have many bugs and low performance, after one or two patches it work fine for me even on old notebook with radeon gpu and fglrx driver. Now this game working almost with the same performance as on Windows.
- Bioshock: Infinite - working fine but only on closed source driver (now should work also on open source), I tested it on release date and working fine.
- Dirt Showdown - working fine on fglrx drivers, performance smilar to windows version
- Stronghold 3 - port working fine but game is bad, very bad (quality the same as on Windows)
- Spec Ops: The Line - working fine but I play only about 30 mins.
- Saint Row IV - working fine on my AMD GPU even with fglrx driver.
- Saint Row 3 - working poorly but still is playable on fglrx
- Saint Row 2 - working very bad (look like windows version working also bad)
- ARMA 3 - working very fine (even is outdated) but perormance is good and in this same level or even better than Windows, graphics options working ok.
So? Look at at this. For me working very good, almost all. Feral games? Only few working fine, other? Not working, working poorly, with bad performance, not support AMD GPU or not support crossplatform multiplayer? Now tell me who make better ports?
