Elden ring is my main game on linux at the moment. Runs perfect.
Its also my first from soft game Iv played so Im completly sold on everything about it. Iv recently checked my lib on protondb and I have 95% playble games in proton. So there is no reason to even boot in to windows anymore, except for work then.

Always been and xfce fan, but I recently moved to endeavour from manjaro and tried kde.
KDE feels more modern, faster and user friendlyer then windows.
Even got wallpaper engine working, seeing bug fixes and more spit and polish gets me excited :).

Quoting: rustybroomhandleWe're about to find out how little some of these publishers/developers actually care about Linux. "just a few clicks", can they be bothered?
Trust me when I say this, its not really just a click on a button. Iv say this from experience as a software developer.
No devs dont care about linux, they care about making money. This is just a step for epic to futureproof themselves. Valve dont really care about linux at all eather. But linux is something that works great for valves ideology, invent tools that passionate people will do all the work with. The only thing valve care about is selling games, hardware and make there client futureproof. Windows is a threat for any game client, and valve is very aware of this. Windows store will probably be even harder to not use in windows 11.

Sry for sounding so negative, but Im really tired of hearing, its just a click on a button.
And this is great news :).

Facebook announces their own Cloud Gaming service

Another streaming service. I can't really see why you would use this. Even stadia is more appealing then Facebooks cloud gaming. I guess another war has started now atleast. Before it was clients now its cloud gaming

Google adds Free Weekends to Stadia starting with Borderlands 3

We gain a lot of Freedom with Stadia because of the titles we could not play otherwise, like Destiny 2. We also gain freedom from expensive hardware configurations. Is it worth the loss of Freedom of how we play these titles? Not saying it isn't, just a philosophical question. Maybe a rhetorical one, that does not even need to be answered.
You can have the same argument for the upcoming Microsoft xcloud and the rumored steam cloud gaming.
Im pretty sure we can expect something like this from steam judging by there steam link app, home streaming, and the way you can stream games from your pc to your phone from anywhere. If you look at where the market is going, its also heading to streaming games, I think this generation of consoles is the last one, the next will just be streaming.

If I should speculate, I dont think stadia is worth it, judging by googles other projects it can shutdown anytime, its expensiv and doesnt have meny titles. I would not move to stadia if it was cheaper, hade more titles. Im to invested in steam, I like what valve do with linux and gaming in general. Steam is far from perfect tho.
And what google does with your info is something Im not fund of. I do use google alot myself, and its very very hard to escape there influence on the web.

The Steam Game Festival Summer Edition is over, here's our round-up

Why once a year. Demos should be something you always should have available. I preferred summer sale :P. Or atleast let me try the game for free for 20-45 min

Stadia gets The Elder Scrolls Online free on Pro, Premiere Edition price cut

Stadia, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Spotify
both Netflix and spotify is great in my opinion. Well I hate Netflix region lock.

Stadia is something I might try if it's free, but I would never pay for it, I'm to invited in steam and it's a better platform in so meny ways so for me to move it would have to be something really awesome.

And stadia even becomes less intressting now when the rumored steam cloud gaming is on the map, Microsofts streaming service xcloud i think the name was. I know alot of people hate Microsoft here, but they got there fair chair of great stuff.

Gog got there own thing going and I hope they stick around.
