EA:
we've decided to block Linux OS access to the game
this will impact a small number of Apex players
Adding Insult to Injury.

I'm still not convinced that behind closed doors there are not nefarious forces cock-blocking Linux. Adobe. EA. Epic (Rocket League) and others -- there is ZERO logic behind their actions.

Hostilities against things they dont like and blame shifting their shitty programming as if computing were a politics.

But hey, just like businesses mixing with politics has lead to companies go out of business -- lets make it happen.

Lets do our part to help EA go out of business unless they walk this back.

I'm doing my part.

Awesome! Time for another play-through. I really hope they fixed the black texture artifacting in the second half of the game on AMD + MESA. The last bit was previously unplayable.

Steam games will now need to fully disclose kernel-level anti-cheat on store pages
Reasons like these are why I continue to patron Steam and make it rain . No other store even comes close.

(GOG is my second favorite. After the Internet is cancelled over "The New Red Scare" I'll happily be playing my mountain of games offline for quite some time.

Books erode, we should really write it on stone in a cave somewhere, for future generations that will 100% be living in caves. lol
Laser Engraved Data Crystals will do just fine ;P

Private property.

You cannot optimize one without hurting the other.

Quoting: Leahi84I guess in addition I prefer the high end graphics and resolution my PC and 1440 monitor gives me, so it's just not interesting to me to play that stuff in a smaller screen with graphics turned down. To each their own.
I have some pretty expensive Linux Gaming rigs 6900 XT, 7900 XT -- Threadripper and I gotta say that I play my Steam Deck OLED practically every day.

Lately I use my Steam Deck in conjunction with my Desktop - 4k @ 50" and 4k @ 75" and for me it makes Steam Controller v2 unnecessary because it literally is v2 with twin joysticks for like Halo MCC and other FPS.

I pre-ordered it out of obligation where mouth meets money, and since then I've probably ordered at least 7 or 8 mostly as gifts -- Valve and the Community have done an amazing job.

Liam is on point in the article the OLED 90hz version is lighter, easier to hold in odd positions and noticeably better.

But if the problem is that who has the extra budget these days, I totally get it, I just wanted to assure you that the grapes are not "sour" as in the "sour grapes" fable by aesop.

I seriously hope this gets the Caesar 3 treatment where they got Julius [External Link] and Augustus [External Link]

The opportunity for ray-tracing like lighting updates and texture and model swap ins would be insane.

I know a lot of people have a lot of feelings about AI too but I can't help but think it would be fascinating to generate some replacements like those lights in the header and so forth -- it could get really interesting really fast.

Halo will now be built on Unreal Engine 5, 343 Industries rebrands to Halo Studios

RIP Halo.

They couldn't even be bothered to use the Halo font from the last quarter century.

It really underscores how little they understand about Halo. It was a good run 117. RIP.

I'm beginning to think all beloved franchise are being destroyed intentionally to justify removing them from the culture pool forever and ostracizing the golden version of each franchise.

For example,: RIP Lord of the Rings -- Amazon & The Rings of Power are doing their best to kill Tolkein's legacy forevermore.

This really is basically a Proton Space-Suit, allowing containerizing the whole Game and Proton to be used elsewhere.

Did I get that right?

I agree with the sentiments above ^^^ I will always love Valve and Steam but we need to be able to play our purchases offline and without Steam. We can still do all our purchasing, friends, community, discussion, achievements and searching on Steam but just have the freedom to be offline.

Another banger by Penguin tanks and madlads, much respect, much props.
