I think I would need to start doing Meth just to keep up with the speed and visual effects of the trailer.

I wonder how it does with AMD and MESA.

OpenGL to be deprecated in the next macOS release, could mean interesting things for Linux gaming

How will this effect developers and Linux gaming?

Well I imagine that the 32.9% of developers that already use Linux will go up. [External Link]

macOS is 18.4% and iOS is 16.4% -- I expect fluctuation there in the 2018 survey.

I expect this to push OpenGL apps to Vulkan.

I also expect this with the GitHub news to make the platform lock-in more dire which will boost Linux development, market-share, and interest from the big guys -- Gabe Newell, and other big developers.

Microsoft acquires GitHub for some loose change

I tried to join Xbox Live yesterday. I had to install a console update. A game update. Figure out my Microsoft account password. Add my address. Enter my free 30 day code. Enter my credit card information -- figure out how to navigate the abyssal XBONE menus, and then go to halo home screen and try to click "Multiplayer" only to get some obscure message about Xbox Live settings not being configured correctly".

I dont know if the XBONE was outputting at 30 FPS @ 4k or the horizontal refresh rate on the 80" TV was fucky -- but the people I was playing with got dizzy so we quit Local Multiplayer.

After Halo on Xbox 360 and the terrible organization and painful teeth-pulling process just to play fucking halo again it's no surprise to me why XBONE is in the toilet behind PS4.

Actually, the whole experience makes me want to keep my 4 controllers and put my console up for sale.

Believe it or not I actually have less problems on my m.2 Dan-A4 console sized SteamOS machine.

As a Linux user -- Linux exclusives don't bother me. If I have to buy a Atari to port games to Flatpak or AppImage or whatever else to get them from my Atari to my Linux it wont bother me much if I really want them.

Is it possible to have the graphics stretch to 16:9 or at least have a black left and right background?

The whole "Retro TV" look thing is just a turnoff for me.

The excellent SC Controller project adds Bluetooth support

Quoting: GuestHi ! Do you manage to get rumble support with it ? I must say I was quite disappointed by the "cheap plastic" feel of the SC. Also the D-Pad felt aweful compared to Logitech gamepad for instance. But maybe I got an old unit. Is it still the case ?
I agree, I dislike the d-pad negative embossment. If anything a d-pad should be raised not lowered.

If I could mod my Steam Controller to make it a slick surface like the right I would.

I don't use my SC often but i still wrestle with the correct way to hold it -- am I supposed to have my index fingers on the top triggers or middle triggers.

Also the wings coming at me up instead of down flys in the face of every other controller's design.

If I had 3d skill I would make those edits and print my own new shell to see if that improved the experience.

These SC Controller devs are the bomb, they're fast.
