Stefan Achatz, the developer who worked on Linux support for Roccat devices answers why he's stopping
23 December 2016 at 2:39 am UTC

The ONLY reason I own a Kone XTG is because of him. I donated to him shortly after my purchase as well. It's very saddening to see him go. Due to the nature of my gaming rig I unfortunately don't do a majority of my gaming on Linux, but I certainly hope someone steps up to at least maintain his contribution so that I'm not forced to Windows for simple things like changing colors on my mouse in the future. Hopefully someone steps up to fill his shoes and carry the torch. I'm definitely happy with my mouse and would love to be able to consider Roccat products in the future. If not I will be forced to purchase products like my daskeyboard that doesn't require anting but a USB port to use all of its features.

Dell set to introduce beefed up Steam Machines

It is indeed cool that they are making new models, but I'm a little confused by the "For more horsepower" model that is $150 more.

As far as gaming goes the user will likely see VERY little difference as far as performance from the two models. IMO it would have made MUCH more sense to keep the i5 in the "upgraded" model but use the extra $150 to put in a GTX970 to go with the 1tb HDD. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Feral Interactive are teasing another new Linux & Mac port with a new clue
25 May 2016 at 1:43 am UTC

OMG! Please let it be Doom!

While I have already purchased it I have not put hardly any time into it due to not having free time for gaming right now. I currently have absolutely no plans to buy the season pass due to it looking like MP only content which I have no interest in I would certainly purchase the season pass from the Feral store just because. Plus I WILL buy a gift or two to give away here if it happens.

The only thing I'm a little sad about is that multi-gpu/SLI still isn't a thing with Vulkan so I would be very surprised to find out that it is the first Vulkan v1.1(v2?) game and that it supports multi-gpu in Linux (or winblows for that matter).. If that's the case I WILL soil myself.

Feral Interactive officially confirm F1 2015 is coming to Linux

EDIT* sorry for the tread jack... but i'm SUPER excited! Not necessarily for this particular game... but it's certainly news that it DOES run on Vulkan!

So word on the streets is that Doom CAN and IS running on Vulkan!!! *itshappening.gif*!!!

Here's mine. The triple monitors are the reason I still do more windows gaming than I wish I had to. I hope one day Linux has support for multi-gpus for gaming and that the games start utilizing them.. I need all the horse power I can get to push games @ 5760x1080.

Serious Engine 1 Linux source code is coming
16 March 2016 at 1:57 am UTC

Obviously Croteam is awesome for the main source release... but they didn't port their game to Linux and they didn't release the Linux code. RCG (yep... you get awesome initials!) is the man!(OMG.. chill feminists.. he is actually a dude) in this situation!

Humble Indie Bundle 16 launches, great selection with Sunless Sea now officially on Linux

Can't beat that with a HUGE stick. I payed $10. Not sure if I'll play anything other than Trine 3 but that alone makes it WELL worth it.

I already have Outlast so I have a key for it. I don't want to just post it here so the first person to message me here or on steam that wants it gets it!

kellerkindtMissing resolution: 5760x1080 ^^

Is that seriously your resolution?

LOL, I'm sure it is as that's my gaming resolution as well. We play games spanned across 3 1080p monitors.

Nice! That's way too many Linux depots to be an accident! ;)

After reading through these comments I must be the oddball "old guy". I've been playing TR since the beginning and while the reboots are certainly different I still think they are great games and Linux gaming will be better for having them(assuming TR2016 eventually comes too).

I understand the nostalgia for the oldies but I have my doubts that if they were to do a "perfect replica" (Maps, items, enemies, story.. etc..) of any of the first 3 TR games, with the graphics and engine they are using today if it would be well received. For better or worse the gaming landscape has changed A LOT since then.

I'm WAY late to the party. I thank "till" for the game. I'm trying to find the config files. Does anyone know where they are? They're not in .larian or .config/larian or .local/share/larian or anything that is "simple" that i can find. I'm sure they are in one of those locations but I'm missing something.

DrMcCoyOne thing that's annoying the hell out of me, though:

~/Larian\ Studios/

Bad Larian. That's not where you should put the configuration, player profile and save games. At all.

I didn't even look for a non "dot file".... I should have known better... but at the same time "I shouldn't have needed to know better". BAD LARIAN! BAD!
