Just remembered - there's also a recent regression [External Link] in the sony hid driver.

If you're using an affected kernel (check /var/log/syslog for error messages marked "sony"), this may be hitting you.

Eh? I'm using the dualshock 3 as my primary gamepad.

Over USB, it Just Works™. Via bluetooth, you do have to use sixad (I'm using a PPA [External Link], but that's because the gamepad itself doesn't actually use the standard bluetooth stack.

I made a little utility [External Link] for switching back and forth from sixad to "normal" bluetooth operating mode - you're welcome to try it.

When debugging software, it can be very difficult and time-consuming to even reproduce a problem, no matter how many other people are experiencing it. The devs say it's one of their top priorities to fix - let's give them a chance to fix it, instead of posting articles with inaccurate, inflammatory titles.
