Been waiting for this one for a long time! I have precious little time for games these days, so I tend to hold off on early-access titles until they actually launch to a positive reception. I'll have to set aside some weekend time to take a look.

Even before this--even before ChatGPT launched, to be honest--there were more new games published on Steam alone in a week than I could have gotten around to playing in a year. Then add in those that are published on other game stores, consoles, phone app stores, and itch.io. If you want to go back further, shovelware was a drag even in the twentieth century. I have no idea what the promoters of this technology would consider the best case scenario for it; I'm not sure they do either. But I'm certain it will mean more crap, less quality, and reduced visibility and sales income for people who actually invest time and care in their work.

Genuinely curious--aside from marketing and the folding stand, did you discover anything that makes this a portable monitor? Since it comes with its own power adapter, I'm assuming it's not something that can run off the power output of a laptop USB-C port or something. It sounds like a nice product, but I don't understand what distinguishes it from being a nice monitor with "portable" on the box. It's certainly not going in a backpack!

Are there default keys assigned out of the box, if you don't have the configuration software installed? I actually play quite a few games on my iPad these days, and I'm curious how it would work there.

Oh, this is great news. I just got this via a bundle the other day and was a little disappointed to see it didn’t play well on my Steam Deck. I’ll have to update and try it again!
