I really don't recall it being that power hungry. I only play on laptop computers, and i never encountered any big performance hits. Did you by chance rendered 100% of the planet scale? I never really got beneath 100 colonists, though.

I´ve only heard about the sex surge on steam. I´m behind the Great German Firewall (ugh), my sensible senses properly protected against sex. I guess we must continue to proliferate via cell divsion.

I have tried this on a Machine at Work, an M2 Mac Studio and it is really convenient, it works like a charm.
Only thing is - does anyone know how to get steam installed on these new machines? There is no steam installer available for this architecture yet as far as i know.
I tried some games on MacOs, and what really blew me away was the ration of power consumption to FPS. I was able to try heavy modpacks of minecraft, and on FullHD it barely went above 50W with really good framerates. No Mans Sky ran on Ultra Settings, FullHD with around 100FPS without any issues, while the power meter only showed around 30W of consumption. That was awesome. I want that on linux! :)

I have exactly this problem on so many other games, Hotline Miami or Cuphead come to mind. Love the stories, but i guess i am too old and my reflexes have gone down. But i know due to the real life time constraints i am not willing enough to put endless hours into gaming anymore, so it may be that.
Rimworld et al: i totally have the opposite experience. I seem to shine in the early/midgame and tend to lose focus in the end and get obliterated. On the topic of "pawn, wtf you are doing: you can draft/undraft pawns or even prioritize things by right-clicking there, so that should make him do his job.
