Quoting: ShabbyXHow can I survive the wait? Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah
Welcome to my world, been through that since the first release! :)
These changes are really appreciated. I always disliked that farming and cooking were no skills, because i tended to our player base a lot (valheim can be such great comedy with friends). I hope they make fishing a lot more relevant to the gameplay, because fishing in this game is one of the best implementations i have ever played. If you are really hooked, there is some cool "valheim lore explained" videos out there, they made me re-read the Edda even.

From November 15, all Steam games sold in Germany will need an Age Rating

Sigh. Yeah, give it to us, we need the pain. Us Gerrrmans need to be protected, we have German Angst!
Man, why can´t we just have Eikes proposal? Auto-Age 18 for nonresponders and thats it.
We are already protected from all the pr0n-games already (as the only country i believe).

If i weren´t so incredibly slow in my gameplay, i really would enjoy games like this. But it takes me so long to twiddle the knobs that i forgot what the initial plan was. Sigh.

A friend nagged me to play Team Fortress 2 in 2008 with him, but initially i refused, because i did not want any DRM/Launcher thingy on my computer. After some weeks i gave it up, and here we are.
Happy Birthday, Steam! May you always stay nice to your followers!

Steam Families has officially launched with a big Steam Client Update

As this is Valve we are talking about, i have reasons to hope that this restriction on family sharing will get clarified and improved. But for me, the family sharing is a lot more than that. It lets me control and set play times and restrictions for the kids really nicely. It worked like a charm in the beta already, and changes were instant. Another quality of life improvement in a long list for me that came basically free, and i am grafeful for that.

Yay!
I have been using the beta for quite some time now with the kids, so far it has been just awesome.
Do the beta users have to do something special now? I would wait a few days and opt out then.
Edit: nevermind, there is a popup with a message that the beta ended and you will be set after a restart. Nice.

Make it so, engage or something for the Steam Space Exploration Fest

Quoting: nullzeroI also see another game with cult following, Starsector, which seems to be referenced every other review and which I never knew about.
I can add to the praise auf Starsector, it is absolutely fantastic, and the similarities to Starcom popped up in my brain too. The thing in Starsector is that you can do absolotely crazy fleet battle with interesting mechanics and are free to do whatever you like (quite like Sid Meiers Pirates back in the C64 days). The only drawback is that it has no multiplayer (and never will).

Anyone remember Escape Velocity Nova? I totally get vibes from this Starcom here, too. Might give it a try!

Deadlock from Valve has very quickly risen up the most played list on Steam

Sorry for further pirating this thread for personal gains. But the Fear Of Missing Out is strong in this one. :)

Castle Come is a 'walking fortress roguelike' that sounds simply awesome

I like that! It seems like walking cities are a thing now, i just bought Mech Engineer (from Microprose), where you manage a walking city too, but its waaaay nerdier. :)
