That looks seriously cool. But... Ubisoft? On Linux!?

Game Saves Are Messing Up Our Drives!

Yes, this was a huge annoyance for me when I reinstalled the OS on my laptop a couple of weeks back. I had to back up my entire home directory to make sure I got everything across. Ideally I think Valve should point developers to the XDG spec [External Link] or as a minimal measure suggest that they use ~/.local/share and ~/.config.

GOL World Tour: Linux Gaming From Germany

Another great instalment in this article series. :)
Daedalic is also notable as a publisher, publishing Linux titles such as Gemini Rue [External Link]
It's only the localized German version they've published though, as the original version is published by Wadjet Eye Games.
Black Pants

Here’s a studio that really likes pants, so much so that they named themselves after them and made a pair of missing pants the basis of the storyline in their game Tiny and Big. The game was included in the Humble Indie Bundle 8 in June last year and subsequent re-bundle this year so if you got the game there and never got round to playing it, you probably should!
I loved the first level of Tiny and Big and it's a ton of fun just running around wreaking havoc and uncovering secrets with your gadgets. Sadly the game becomes more combat focused and less sandbox oriented as you progress through it, so for me it lost a lot of what I initially liked about it and I never actually finished it. It's absolutely worth giving it a go though as it's a pretty unique game with a ton of charm.

New Steam Store, Lots Of New Stuff

I just noticed that the "Upcoming" tab on the front page doesn't filter by OS unlike the other tabs. And the full list of upcoming releases [External Link] doesn't show anything at all for Linux or Mac.

Ibb & Obb Coming To Linux Soon, Developer Looking For Testers

Oh, yes! I've been waiting for this one (though I thought the developer was going to post in the Linux request thread on the Steam forums when they made a version available for testing).

Beyond Gravity Casual Platformer Released On Steam

I played this for a bit yesterday and it was pretty fun. As Liam wrote it doesn't have a ton of depth but there's a bunch of goals and upgrades to reach for. Can see myself picking it up for short sessions every now and then.

Blackwell Games Make Their Debut On Linux In Humble Bundle: PC And Android 11

Quoting: DrMcCoy
Quoting: abelthorneThere was already a functional port of the AGS engine for Linux that was released about one year ago.
Yeah, it was actually done by the AGS community after Chris Jones FLOSS'd the engine: https://github.com/adventuregamestudio/ags [External Link]
I seem to recall reading somewhere at some point that the Humble guys were working on their own branch of AGS independently from the community maintained branch. Though I'm not sure why. And I get the impression from Janet's answer above that WEG will be handling the Linux build themselves using the community version for A Golden Wake:
We're planning to do this for A Golden Wake, which will be out for PC, Mac, and Linux on October 9. It's easy enough now the AGS engine port is done; we just need to wrap the same build as we use on PC into the Mac and Linux AGS runtime.
Quoting: edoCool, but, are this games good?
I've played the first four games and I think they're easily some of the best point-and-click adventures of recent years. Your mileage may vary though, and it depends on whether or not you like classic point-and-click games to begin with.

I don't have any experience with it myself and don't know how mature it is, but FIFE [External Link] seems like it might fit the bill for what they're looking for in an isometric RPG engine.
