Before I move to AMD GPU, I was worried every time I saw "NVIDIA driver update".
Now, I'm worried when I see "Tweaks to the anti cheat".
Fortunately, I don't play too many games with anti cheat any more (thanks, no thanks RIOT).

The "bad-looking" guy with the purple jacket looks so much like Mads Mikkelsen.
Interesting game, the map interactions seem very fun.

Hey, we noticed a big number of cheaters were using intel graphic cards. Since only few players currently use intel graphic cards, we decided to block access from computers running on intel graphic cards. The anticheat scene is so bad and clueless right now it's ridiculous.
We will do everything possible to solve cheating.
Thanks

I've tried it and the idea is pretty cool but the depth of the game is really scary.
There are so many things to learn: items (some that you can activate), spells with different version based on their level, important places on the map with objectives

Xorg is dead, long live Wayland - Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) dropping Xorg

There might still be a lack of protocol for vrr support detection in wayland according to this https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/1154#missing-wayland-protocol [External Link]
But the main problem is that mutter doesn't support vrr if I read correctly.

Quoting: BlackBloodRumIf you're on AMD, freesync works just fine under Wayland. It was one of (many) reasons I switched my system over to Wayland. My bad then, it seems like GNOME is the problem in my case, not wayland.

I was shopping for a new monitor for black Friday and was debating with myself about how useful would HDR and Freesync features be since Wayland can't support those yet and I don't really know when they'll get decent support.
Hopefully the wayland folks remember about the gamers when prioritizing the missing features.

Upgraded yesterday without any issue. I didn't see a lot of change except for the pill on the top left and my extensions being broken until they update (I hate Gnome for doing that again and again)
Unity apologises for the new runtime fee, say they will make changes

Like everybody's dumb, flail their arms and rise their pitchforks without understanding how good of an idea the install fee was.

Quoting: RomlokIt's exactly how politics apologize. "We didn't work enough on explaining why it was a good reform for the country".We apologize for the confusion and angst the runtime fee policy we announced on Tuesday caused. This, ladies, gentlemen, and everyone between and beyond; is a classic example of what we call a "non-apology". They're not apologising for what they did, nor admitting that they were wrong to do it. They're apologising for making you feel bad about what they did.
"I'm sorry you feel that way"

Heart of the Machine from Arcen Games dropping Native Linux for Proton

The whole thing is pretty sad honestly.
It reminds me the whole "proton is bad for linux gaming" argument.
As proton gets better and better, we see more and more games dropping their linux build in favor of a proton-compatible windows build (either silently not supporting it well or explicitly like here).
All of this happens while linux share is growing.
It would be fine if it didn't make us very dependent on Valve's strategy to support proton.
